I am a web designer and I did the work several months ago for a pet walking business wanting to franchise their business. They started working with a franchising expert who brought me on board as the web and graphic designer. After months of working on their project, the owner of the pet walking business pulled out of the deal leaving the franchising expert and myself at a loose end. I was assured by the pet walking business that they would not use any of the designs I created for them. Initially they didn't, but I have since discovered that they are using the web page designs and the logo that I designed on their website which has been live now for over a month. During this month, I have had some advice from a solicitor. He advised I write to the pet walking business asking them to either pay me my fee or take the website down, which I have done. They have done neither of these. I then contacted their hosting company and reported the pet walking business and their website. I sent the hosting company the original design work and the emails that prove the pet walking company are using my designs illegally. Unfortunately the hosting company will not suspend their site. I don't understand why they are not suspending their site as the solicitor said that they should. I cannot afford to actually have the solicitor act on my behalf so I do realise there is a limited amount of what I can do to re-coup my loss. I would, however, like to do whatever I can to get their site taken offline. I have reported the pet walking business to Trading Standards and also to the Office of Fair Trading but they both say they do not advise on trading disputes. Is there anything else I can do (without paying a solicitor £100 plus vat per hour) to get their site taken down? I am considering taking out a CCJ but have never done this before and not sure if it is worth it. Sorry for the lengthy thread, it would be easier to use names and site URL, but I don't know if that is allowed on here. If any one has any advice, i would appreciate it. Thanks. I have a client who wants an online shopping cart (there's no problem with this) but she wants it to link to her Ebay shop so that when a product is bought from her shop, it shows 'sold out' or deletes the product from her Ebay shop. And vice versa. Is this possible? I normally use zen cart or OSmax or bespoke shopping carts for the online shop. Would it be possible if I only used the Paypal shopping cart facility? Thanks.

...and on the css note, does anyone know any good and easy-to-understand tutorials on building sites using purely css? Really need to get to grips with it all. Thanks!

Thanks. I'm taking over from someone else which is part of the problem. If I were to do this from scratch, then I would just use tables/css. The 'banner' is just text, not alt text - it's to remind me to put something there. I don't know why the logo sometimes appears and then disappears. On the other page they gave me, the logo appears fine. They want to keep all the code from the original page so I can't strip anything out, although I might do just to test the theory. Thanks.

The logo is showing - that's what I couldn't see. And the button should be a block of text. How odd. Perhaps it's just my pc or something.

Hi, I'm re-building some web pages that were previously built by someone else. I noticed when I browsed them some of the images do not show up and also online, they do not show up. There are several javascripts in the page, which need to stay, but is that something that could be the problem? When I browse the page offline, it says 'enable javascript' and I can see all the images, but as soon as I enable javascript, the logo and another image disappears. I can't see anything in the code that would cause the problem and I'm sure the pathways and image names are all correct as I've double checked several times. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm thinking of upgrading as well. I don't code very much, I spend more time on the design. So, from this point of view is it a good idea to upgrade? I'd be interested in working more with css and also would like the new photoshop (but could just go for a standard DW upgrade to save money). However, would it be worth getting the entire standard suite rather than just an upgrade? I use Fireworks and photoshop all the time. Thank you.
