  1. I've posted a new blog on my website sharing a bit of what I've learnt over the last few years. All comments appreciated :] www.drippinginsunshine.com/technique/sharing-is-caring/
  2. not sure what you mean about the fixed elements being laggy. I did have the island taking up a wee bit more of the space on the page but I pulled it down. I think it's one of those marmite elements that will obviously divide opinion.
  3. Well that's about as good as it gets :] Thanks! I have done very basic SEO on the site. Just some quick work for the launch. It's best viewed at 1920 x 1200, but anything down to 1024x768 and it'll be fine. It should present ok in any browser other than IE6. It's also not particularly iphone friendly.
  4. Thanks so much for all the responses guys. Really appreciate everyone checking the site out. The conscensus seems to be that it's a unique looking site which works well which is great. 'It wasn't until I was cooking that I realised that the island looks like the top of a cabbage' I enjoyed that :] I appreciate your feedback. I actually think the previews of the work are of a reasonable size for the user to determine what they would like to click on. I was going to do 'inner pages' but I just don't have the time at the moment. I don't think too many people will mistake the island for the top of a cabbage but I will stand corrected if they do :]
  5. Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. If you fancy tweeting about it / following me / subscribing to my RSS that would be ace :] Ali
  6. http://drippinginsunshine.com/ Been a while coming. The urgency to get it finished was bumped up as we've gone down to 3 days a week at the agency I work for :[ So i'm looking for some freelance work. If anyone has too much on and feels like passing some work my way I'd really appreciate it. Obviously, any feedback is more than welcome. Ali
  7. hey! thanks for the feedback - definately some interesting points. It's in a frame cause it a fwded url and so the actual URL is being disguised. Did wonder if someone would pick up on that :-)
  8. hey guys, thanks for the replies! not sure why you couldn't click through to my work? You click on the name of the project, then click 'view project' when it comes up. Any more feedback is more than welcome. Thanks! Ali
  9. yea, it isn't the quickest. Did you look through some of my work? Thanks Ali
