  1. Thanks BlueDreamer - I thought id have to go down that route BUT Instead I paid for "Virtuemart Import Images as Products" which is a component that allows you to select a folder as a bulk import, assigning each photo as a seperate ID number - here is the link for others - http://joomdonation.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=99&Itemid=120. However, I had real trouble getting the damm thing to work! I resorted to a VirtueMart/Joomla bundle, which set that side up and THEN i installed the component. Uploaded a buch of images to test and then tested it with a sandbox paypal payment. Everything is really great! Thanks to the two WDF Moderators for taking the time to answer! I consider this case=SOLVED!!! Time for a beer now
  2. It is a lovely site, very quick as well - sometimes I find that Joomla can be a bit heavy on the sites I build - slightly too many JS and CSS calls (although I've found a great way to compress them all into one file). Yeah, thought it might just be personal choice! Although something else troubles me, I read "NET" and "Web Designer" magazines who both only ever talk about Wordpress - I recon there's a sponsorship thing going on there!!! When work slows up a bit I may have another go with wordpress, but saying that I do love hacking the Joomla code
  3. Mike - I really like the look of the site you designed, its got a guy with pink glasses and its call SQ or something. Wondered if you post a link here, just cos Im nosey!!! Was this Worpress or any other CMS?
  4. Of course Mike I understand that Wordpress is those things, but Joomla is also those things. I just wanted to know if there was a major difference between the two that I was missing out on. So what does Wordpress have over Joomla?
  5. I'm a Joomla kinda guy. I've look at the other girls on the street, some are defiantly quite fit, but I'm happy with my girl. She's stable, doesn't cheat, she has loads of people following her, I know how to push her buttons and well, I just love her so much. My main website is in Joomla, I cant post any links or anything but I'm found if your looking for Kent Web Host in google. I guess my question is this, whats with all the love for WordPress? What about the lovely Joomla?
  6. Yeah, we've looked at all the sites that offer these online gallaries such as everybodysmile.biz, but he wants to sell photos within the site im designing him. Thanks anyway zed
  7. I've done the usual thing of trawling through other forums, but still no luck. The Platform: Joomla & Virtuecart (or another eCommerce package) The Brief: I have a client, he is a photographer, he takes 1000's of pictures at events and want to sell them on his website. The Problem: I dont want to add each and every picture as a product - it would take ages. The Desired Outcome: Within JOOMLA - Upload a directory of images. Images are added as a batch to the catalogue, thereby each picture has a unique product code with an add to cart button. So Far Discovered: Shape 5 have a template called Photofolio which uses Tienda Ecommerce. I've also looked through the Virtuemart and Joomla forums. Thank you so much for helping, Garry
  8. i agree - the best shots which are crutial to the business are the ones you take yourself
  9. afraid my advice is simple Do what i do, just keep experimenting and playing around with the code. Im by no means a PHP expert but i did learn by stealing other web pages PHP content - mostly menu's and then editing them on a server with a browser window open its obvious and appologies if this is the most rubbish piece of advice ever!
  10.
