Review of logos
I like 2 the most, what about trying the overlapping of the b and d like 4 and 5 but with the text position of 2?

Animation website
Well by "smartened up" I mean give the site some structure and continuity. Yes I know your pages are set out all the same, but beacuse you are fitting everything around your orange cad image, and the content varies in length, it just seems a bit hap hazard. It just means the site is a bit of effort to "flick" through. If I were you I would make a header image either using your current vector like logo or utilise some cad. Then on the home page I would put that current cad image along with your opening statement in a bordered div along with the "see our work" link. Then use that cad image sparingly throughout the rest of the site. Chuck the 2 animation vids into a "recent work" area, along with the title of each project, so they stand out a little bit more. Then the marketing bit I would replace with a more specific list of things that YOU do, and how YOUR services could be of use to the potential client. Also possibly change the syle of teh "view our work" button, your other elements are quiet smart and professional, and teh rounded edged shiney green button just doesnt fit in. Just my thoughts, hope I havent come across as harsh, your cad stuff is pretty good and thats what you want people to see, so cut down a tad on the text and let your work do teh talking!

New design
Really smart design man, colour scheme is top! Also your logo design is pretty "klever" with the r going into the m. Good stuff

Animation website
Pretty cool animations, what software do you use? I agree with Leming, try and get your structure smartened up, and possibly lose the cad beanboxes on the other pages other than your home. Good effort considering your from a CAD background!

Yooooooooooooooo!
Thanks for the welcomes! Acrylic, I definately know what you mean, from my point of view the only part of creating a website that is similar to what I learnt at uni is just the psd template and graphic creation part. Didnt realise that there was so much to it, and even though it has got a lot easier now I have got to grips with html and css, I am still getting stuck quite frequently! But it is making a refreshing change from sketching 50 different ideas for headlights etc! Also didnt mean to be so flippant when I said "I'm trying my hand at web design blah blah", I defiantely have a lot of respect for web designers, its a lot harder than some people make it look. But hopefully I can be successful at it and create some cool stuff along the way!

Yooooooooooooooo!
Evening All! My names Rob and I stumbled across this forum while looking for a top drawer web design related forum, and it looks like I have found it! (you cant beat a really active forum!) Anyway I graduated 18months ago in Transport and Product Design, and after becoming dis-illusioned with car/industrial design as there is very little in the way of jobs unless you have previous experience, I have been looking into what design field I can make a career from. And tbh I still dont know! CAD is what I really love and would hopefully like to do CGI type stuff, visuals etc. I have been learning after effects and dadbbled a bit in 3dsmax and maya, but as the software I learnt at uni (Autodesk Alias) is a bit different from the likes of Maya I have a LOT of learning to do, and there just arent enough hours in the day atm. So I'm trying my hand at web design, and I'm really getting into it. Not quite sure whether to go totally freelance or bulk up my portfolio so I can get some kind of "digital" design job which will hopefully give me that all important studio experience! Love the idea of being my own boss though, but I know its gonna be hard work! Just completed my first website, which I will soon be putting a link up on the forum for a bit of crit, advice etc, and I am currently working on my own portfolio site which I am hopefull will be up and running in a fortnight or so. Of course its not all about recieving so hopefully I can contribute with my 2pence worth and give some help and advice to others (mainly design based though as atm my coding skills are rather basic!). Now back to work.......... Safe!
