    Huge improvement.

I like the addition of that new brownish colour. I wonder if you could include that into the other pages a little too. Just feels more warm and welcoming with it. Or perhaps use the orange from the bunny in the logo to complement the blue.

    Anyways, good work!

EDIT: One more thing, the website right now doesn't show exactly which page you're on. I figure a good way of introducing the colour throughout the rest of the pages would be to make the active page this new colour in the navigation.

brrr. cold. black border and midnight blue (well late evening)

rabbit too small in the logo

"high standard coding" but 6 errors

links are blue text on first page (headings) but then mysteriously the blue headings on further pages are, wiat for it, not links.

    link logo to home

    favicon

facebook and other icons bit big

the bevel on the logo text is too harsh and maybe separating design from rabbit hole would increase readability (looks like ' RabbitH le design" bit french

background is still a firworks png ... export is your friend (but guess you know that, and jpeg would alsmot certainly be smaller: certainly smaller than 625kb )

fully justified text? too hard to work with on the web measure is too short for it, and no hyphenation = high chance of the dreaded white rivers or even rapids

not so sure about the grunge feel - seems a bit heavy and doesn't fit with the cute/quirky/cartoonish rabbit

    Hey Dave.

I have nothing major against the site except that everything seems too big. The width for example, 1250 pixels means people with monitor screens of 1024x768 pixels will never even see the left and right of border design you created.

I would squish everything down a bit, making the maximum width something like 960 or 980 pixels. I think the whole site would look more professional that way too.

I actually thought it looked quite pleasant whilst it was loading and then the black border appeared! Without that, it looks much better in my opinion.

Hello Dave welcome to the forums,

I agree, the images and text look huge and looks like you done it like that as you dont have much content? but looked at your source and thats nicely done.. I also agree with the width, you could try using the 960.gs grid system?

    Hi Joe,

I had a similar problem. Online competition is fierce and getting decent search engine rankings is tough as a result. As i'm a freelancer (and do this in addition to a full-time job) I don't have as much time as I would like to put into SEO.

So, I designed a flyer and dropped it round all the businesses in the local area. I gave some business cards to my friends and family and asked them to hand one to anyone they talk to who might be interested in a website/website re-design. I also did some e-shots. The e-shots were great, but I think mainly because I took time to make the emails personal and specific to their business. I targeted particular types of business/organisation at a time, for instance, schools, local small business, sports clubs, churches, local bands etc.

I got quite a lot of work using these techniques, which then led to more work through word-of-mouth recommendation. It's a slow process but works in time.

Also, consider approaching some freelance graphic designers who might be interested in collaborating on projects.

    Hope this helps!

I'm in the process of learning PHP and MySQL at the moment (using books mainly). Two projects that I would like to try would be:

Creating a simple CMS system to simply allow the editing of page text by users (nothing too fancy just yet!)
Creating a simple CRM system for my own use to keep track of customer contact details etc.

Any tutorials based around these would be great. Or even just advice on components of these?

Also, how to plan a database driven application would be useful. As in, planning the tables/fields required as I understand this is an important thing to plan out before starting any coding.

Just a few thoughts! Hope it helps!

Only had time to have a quick look but with regards your IE problem, I think if you add 5px of padding-bottom to h3 then it makes all your heading text visible. Only problem is that it then shifts some of your text underneath it down. You could probably fix that quite easily though.

Probably another way to sort it, sorry not got time to have a longer play!
