Hi all, Im switching jobs in my company into development and I thought id start to bruce up my skills. I have a degree in Interactive Multimedia but havnt really put it to much use apart from the odd freelance project, so i thought id join here and be part of the community again. Il be mainly a front end designer using html and css, but the company is .net based so il have to jump into that at some point. If any one has any advice that would be grand. Cheers and Hello!

Hi everyone, im just getting back into webdesign after a couple of years out of it. this may be a stupid question but i always used to build sites using html + css. More importantly from a structure/layout point of view I used floats within my css. Now is this still common practice or is this technique now out of date and if so what should I be reading up on? thanks for your help
