  1. Awesome, thanks j05hr! That's close enough for me! I checked what you did and I've learnt something today. cheers.
  2. That's exactly the drop shadow settings I'm using I'm not sure the original is using a drop shadow though. Anyway, I appreciate your help, cheers!
  3. Hey, I'm trying to create a button in photoshop (inspired by one I found on another site) so I can edit the text and color. I can't get the bottom text layer to look anything like the original (top). It looks like a letterpress effect but I'm lost after trying multiple layer effects. Any guidance would be much appreciated. I've also attached the PSD. signup.zip
  4. Thanks for the responses. There doesn't seem to be a clear consensus. We clearly have no option but to build both versions at the same time and split test them.
  5. I'm in disagreement with my partner over how best to represent our products' benefits and features on the homepage. Of course we should A/B test both options but we don't yet have the resources to build both as they affect more than just the homepage design. I believe that a homepage shouldn't contain too much information so as not to overwhelm the user, a brief sentence or two about each benefit with a link to another page with in depth info about the related feature. Please see wireframe A below. wireframe A He believes in more information available on the homepage and by using tabs most of the content is hidden from initial view so its doesn't clutter the page and the user doesn't have to leave the page to decide whether he is interested in the software. Additionally there is more content to index on the homepage which he believes is good for SEO. Please see wireframe B below. wireframe B I'd really love to hear from other designers which they would choose and why? I'm interested in this from any perspective - Design, SEO, usability, conversion.

  7. I also like it with this modern effect (similar to the html5 logo) , what do you think ?
  8. I agree, without the reflection is better. The black is quite catching, awesome design. I love its simplicity!

  12. Wow, that is awesome! Absolutely the best version so far. I really really like it. I just need to think if it can be integrated with the type a bit more since that is the other advice I have received. But otherwise brilliant! Thanks Web designer112
  13. The brighter blue logo is the old one. I'm also starting to believe its a step backwards for the reasons listed by 'Renaissance-Design' below... Thank you, that is great advice. I have learnt these principles at one time or another but since I don't do logo design normally, I totally forgot.. Thanks!
  14. Hey, I'm no designer, I'm the first to admit I know nothing about design theory but I managed to put something together a few months ago which I convinced myself was acceptable. However, after seeing it for a few months I'm convinced it could actually be hurting my business and certainly doesn't look professional. I would like to update our logo to something which is a bit more original and professional. I thought that updating the shield to something a little more 'slick' would do the job, but I'm still not convinced - see the 2nd attachment. I don't want to change to something completly different as we probally already have a few customers who associate us with the shield symbol but of course I would if the concept was great. Lastly, the reason I originally tried to do this myself was budget, so obviously my budget is tight. I'd love any comments on what you think about the logo and what could be done to improve it. I'd also like quotes from designers interested in doing the redesign. That would be greatly appreciated Cheers, Naruko

  17. Thanks for all the awesome comments gentlemen and ladies, its truly appreciated. Keep em coming if there any more Yes, actually I just uploaded that xmas ribbon design about 30 mins ago. You're right about the background image, I will fix that. Thank you!
  18. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! Notbansky, I'm going to test all 3 of your suggestions. You're absolutely right about the line lengths, they are too long. I agree the pricing table is unbalanced, I never thought about putting the keys on the right but I will try. Thanks again.
  19. Hey, I'm no expert yet and this job had pretty fixed boundaries with respect to creativity. It may be a bit boring to you, but the feedback is incredibly valuable to me. The layout is obviously not original in any way and is based on the common but proven software service sites. Professional and trustworthy yet modern was the main design goal. I only have a few days left on this project and so I would love some feedback on anything I could improve, usability, typography, color, layout etc. I would particularly appreciate feedback on the pricing page and order form. Things still have to be minified and optimized, so please dont judge speed. Website Link Thanks to you, I appreciate your time Naruko
