Thanks a lot for the advice guys. I was beginning to think nobody was going to reply Thanks for this dap. I will look into the boldness of the text and experiment with the shadow density and colour. Yeah I have got all of that sorted I think. I prefer working initially in 72 ppi and I performed a dry run in the conversion process with no colour loss. But thanks for the heads up

Hey everyone At the moment I'm designing a webpage that will contain images (thumbnails really) of members of staff. My intention is to be able to click on a thumb and have a chunk of text appear alongside the image or in the form of a popup window. I figure that jquery is the best way to go on this so does anyone have any suggestions on what I could use for this effect. Thanks a lot

I wasn't aware you could do that. It isn't available from the 'Save As' drop list. Is there a plugin? I got myself a portable copy of Indesign and the PDF looks pretty good actually. Really clear and no blurs.

Hey guys I am in the process of designing a booklet for a local college that they have asked me to revamp a bit. I have the images (pages) exactly the way I want them in Photoshop (PSD Format). What I've been trying to do is transfer each page into a PDF document. I'm a real novice at this so far I've been saving the PSD file as a JPEG and then importing it into MS Word. From there I save it as a PDF. No idea if this is the right way to do it When I've imported the image of the page into a Word doc, it looks fine and is the appropriate size. But when I save and open it in a PDF, you can clearly see that parts of the image have become blurred. I'm assuming that this may have something to do with the resolution. I have set the PSD document to 72 pixels/inch and 300 pixels/inch with no difference in the PDF file Could someone please help me this. It's driving me mad Thanks a lot

Could you give me some more information on how to do this. Thanks Also I have had a look on Tsohost as you advised. The option that appeals to me is the £14.99 for one year hosting. My site that I want to be hosted is fairly basic and my intention is to host it for 1yr and review the feedback and attention that it gets. Would this option be suitable for a newcomer like myself or are there drawbacks?

I have recently purchased a domain name in an attempt to get myself online. I'm a bit of a novice at this kind of thing so could someone give me some advice/recommendations on how to go about hosting a personal website. Like I said I have purchased a domain name from fasthosts.co.uk but I'm unsure of what to do next. Should I purchase hosting from the same provider? or are there any other cheap yet good options out there. If someone could give me a few pointers, an idiots guide if you like, then I'd really appreciate it Thanks a lot

Hey everyone. I have designed a mockup game review site and included a jquery slider on the homepage. Now all of a sudden when I preview it, I'm getting this white chunk in the background that I'm 90% sure is due to the slider in some way. I originally set the background colour to black, that didn't work and then tried adding a background image with the same results. Can anyone help with this. Thanks a lot

Yeah. As I said in my first post I don't really like the menu as it is. Would you get rid of background pattern entirely lower down the page and just use gradient maybe?

Ah sorry I see what you mean. So would you change the colour, the pattern or both?
