Its all done through your mobile phone. Bring up the mobile phone and select Multiplayer from the list of options. Obviously you need your console hooked up to the internet to play online )

I have been playing it for a while on PS3 now, and after a few problems it has been solid for the last couple of days and great fun. Some excellent online modes, I Like Cops n Crooks and GTA Race where you start out on foot.
  3. It took me longer than I would normally want to wait, but only about 40 seconds. However, there was no real indication that I was waiting for anything special... just a progress bar... no branding, no user friendly welcome... I know this thread isn't about bashing Flash sites, but there's a reason why so many people have strong opinions against them. Its a love/hate thing with me. I have to deal with embedding Flash files and FLV's as part of my job, so its useful to know the best way to do that, so thanks Matthew for that tip.

Had a couple of quick goes on this today, so far pretty good, Im sure it will be a great game and I am looking forward to the online play, but graphically, well, I am not overly happy with how it looks on my plasma. Guess I need to tweak it. Very jaggy in places and blurry too.

Only the PS3 version. It installs a fair few GB's from the Bluray to help speed things up in-game. The 360 version will just stream straight from the disc, in your case.

Someone extremely kind got me a copy from Woolworths this morning. Paid slightly over the odds, but without the frantic shop-to-shop running around! Its "installing" now!

Hehe, that was just my vain attempt to sound slightly less like a sad git!

No point queueing if shops are letting them all go to people who ring up and put their names down....

I'm not optimistic at all! ASDA have screwed me over by allowing people to pre-order instead of making them queue at Midnight, at least that would have given me a fighting chance! I've rang round everyhwere else I can think of and no answer... even from 24hr supermarkets... its a conspiracy, I tell ya! Only other chance for me will be tomorrow morning at one of the non-24hr supermarkets... if not, who knows when I can get to a shop thats got it in stock... ah well, nervermind, not the end of the world!

OOh now I am intrigued..... what 3 games are you referring to and thus waiting for on the PS3??
  11. angstmann replied to Xander's topic in General Chat
I knew there were a lot of people who managed to get it early... I tried but failed... so it'll be Midnight at ASDA for me tonight!
  12. I have been using laptops as my main machine for many years now and only recently bought a decent desktop (20in iMac) with a view to using it as my main work machine. Unfortunately it hasn't quite worked out as planned as it is still way too convenient to use my laptop for ALL my work. I can work wherever I want in the house, take my work anywhere, etc etc, you know the score! Unfortunately, my Macbook is performing so well for everything I need it to do, that I have no need for a more powerful machine, or a bigger screen. The time may well come, but for now, everything works so well.
  13. Of course you can, but its bloated and clunky as hell. Its definitely not the best text editor out there and its expensive. Plenty reasons to consider moving away from it and I am glad I did, like I stated above.
  14. SEO is a minefield. It takes a lot to fully get your head around it especially if you are totally new to it. I am nowhere near close to fully getting to grips with it. All I can recommend is read, read and read some more when it comes to SEO. I have heard good things about SEOBook (http://www.seobook.com) and have subscribed to their blog recently myself. Might be a good place to start, as they tend to favour more organic or natural forms of SEO which I think in the long run is the best thing to aim for. As for CSS... bite the bullet mate... you really ought to be focusing as much time as you can to learning it, in a bid to move away from table-based layouts which are a no-no in modern web design. It took me a while to fully appreciate that, but I am much better off since ditching Dreamweaver and moving away from tables as a layout mechanism.

More than plenty for me mate, in fact I have a major struggle to play the ones I already have! Lots of good games have come out in the last few months, I will admit that about 6 months ago, the PS3 was definitely struggling for quality games.

I hear a lot of people who say that. Mine is on daily though for a quick blast on something or other, or to stream video or watch a dvd (its my only dvd player).

That wouldn't really surprise me, but from what I have heard things are fine now on PS3 since an update. I haven't played since! As for the differences between the XBox Live service and the Playstation Network service - don't get me started! Although rumour has a much better system coming to the PS3, eventually!

Its a great game, I played the beta on the 360... bought it for the PS3 and rarely play it, either not enough time, other things get in the way, or its too violent to play during daylight hours (with the kids around)

Its very easy for me to get motivated for work-related things. Reason being, I am reminded everywhere I turn just how much I do not yet know and have to learn, thats the greatest motivation for me... in other areas of life, well lets just say I severely lack motivation in many areas...

I have none of those.... if you had said Everybody's Golf and FIFA, I'd have jumped at the chance!

I hardly play on my 360 and have very few friends on Live. I have a lot more friends on PS3, so I tend to play that more. having said that, I have PGR4, Gears of War, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Crackdown and Table Tennis for the 360 - I just don't play on it much!

I bought a 20in iMac a few months ago, have yet to notice what the fuss is about regarding the screen. However, if I'd viewed it side by side with a 24in then my opinion might be different. Believe it or not, it was supposed to become my main work machine, but I am still on my Macbook daily, for work! I need a new desk and chair, thats my excuse! Don't get me wrong it does get used a LO, just not really for work at the moment! The aluminium iMacs are all great pieces of kit, so you can't go wrong. OS X is a great development platform, and I find it a lot quicker and more straightforward to get every day things done, but that is purely subjective, but I'm sure you won't have a problem with switching to OS X. Regarding software, I'd definitely try and wean yourself off Dreamweaver. I use Textmate for code editing and I use my Mac's built-in Apache web server for testing, it works great.
  23. Welcome. So many new sign ups, so few original ways to welcome people.
