What is the best file structure for hand coded sites?
Thanks for the replies, very helpful. I thought using dreamweaver to learn was bad news because it inserts unnecessary code?

What is the best file structure for hand coded sites?
Hi everyone I am new to web design and currently learning XHTML and CSS which I am finding fairly logical. I have CS4 which includes Dreamweaver but I am currently coding by hand in Notepad++ so that I can get to grips with the coding properly. My question is how do I set up the files and folder for sites I am building as I assume they will get bigger as I get more practice in. Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Which order should I be learning in?
Hi everyone, I am a total newbie to web design and have just started learning XHTML and CSS. I want to eventually be able to combine my photography with freelance design and have given myself three years to teach myself web design whilst I complete my photography degree. Other things like JavaScript, MySQL and PHP keep popping up all over the web and I wonder if any of you can point me in the right direction as to which order I should be learning stuff in as I am finding it all a bit much to take in at the moment. Should I concentrate on one area at a time or just go the whole hog and try and learn a bit of each language as I go? Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I am new on here!
Hi everyone, thought I would introduce myself here. I have recently given up a long career in accountancy to focus on letting out my creative side which has been hibernating for the last 20 years! I have just completed the first year of a design degree but am moving on to a photography degree in september. My design teacher tried to steer me away from web design because she thought it would be as boring as accountancy for me. However, I am still feeling the pull of web design which i considered before starting out on the design degree. I just can't help it, i am totally hooked on the immediacy of creating sites in html, even though I only have basic html and css knowledge. Now that the summer holidays are here I would like to advance my skills and would appreciate any advice from any of you out there regarding which languages I should be learning. Ultimately, I would like to combine my photography with web design and work as a freelancer and am giving myself a timscale of three years to 'train' myself. I would welcome any advice and help you people here can give me.
