Apple browsers?
Well nobody else has said this either: You can't get IE for Mac. (If you're about to say "yeh you can", no you can't. Haven't been able to for years.)

Team Tree House?
It is Ryan Carson's. It's good, they added badges recently which I'm not entirely sure of the purpose, I think to track how much you've done. Good ways to access the videos (iTunes podcast subscription - auto downloads the vids). Money has actually been spent on the production, so the videos are nice and scripted and rehearsed (better than youtube). The stuff they ended up producing just wasn't what I wanted in the end, you may be different. It also got rather expensive for 1 video a week which-I-may-watch-at-some-time-but-not-right-now.

W3 validation?
The validator itself is flawed, it might be fixed now but leave off </body></html> and you can still have a valid HTML5 page. (Just because the validator says it is valid doesn't mean it is)

Team Tree House?
Unlike HTML Dog, W3Schools has been updated this decade.

Can I make an email address by adding a CNAME?
You only need to change the MX Records. During Google Apps install it will tell you to add 5 or 6 servers to your MX records.

Blame BrightonMike for that.

ASP.Net in Dreamweaver?
Please expand how "outdated" makes it no longer good? It was a good simple scripting language before MS rolled out .Net and ceased updating it. Plenty of websites, even ones being developed now are in ASP Classic.

Cookies, guess the flavour
Was that not the first warning sign?
-
ASP.Net in Dreamweaver?
ASP is fine, in fact, rather good. ASP.Net is not. Viewstate is a good starting point to look up why it is not rather good.
-
ASP.Net in Dreamweaver?
You've got it the wrong way round. Asp.net is the monstrosity.

Hide div if image not found
No need for the else statement. Can leave it with just the if.

Google Images OK for design situation?
The problem with searching Google for royalty free, and searching Flickr for CC photos, is that people take restricted photos and republish them as royalty free. So actually, you're no better off since you can't actually trust these sauces. Best bet is to pay for photos from a premium stock image site.

Macbook Pro/Air - decision time.
Plenty of good laptops for £600. If £600 is your budget, don't get a mac. It won't make you any better at what you do. Textbooks are showing off. There is no actual reason to have a Mac over Windows - they are just popular in this industry down to personal taste.

Is this a good app idea?
I have been having a look, but can't remember its name or find it again. I thought there was legislation stating you had to be 13 years old to sign up for [stuff] online. Whatever stuff is I also can't remember, but forums like this fell into that category.
