  1. Right, My problem is this: I am creating a form that is solely in html (no php etc) with a mailto action. I am using the enctype text/plain so that the output email is well presented/ easily readable, however when multiple checkboxes from anywhere in the form are checked it refuses output, as is the case for some textboxes. With other enctypes it will accept multiple checkbox entries but the output is encrypted and not broken up on separate lines per element. How can I have the desired output without the restrictions/ encryption? Any help/ advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  3. Right, I've reached the e-commerce side of my website and I am having too many problems. I'm using phpMyAdmin for my database although I have tried MySQL which I just can't get my head around. So does anyone know of a basic yet quality guide to constructing an e-commerce site? Ideally that doesn't involve using the MySQL Command Line Client. Specifically I need searchable products which can be altered by admin and added to a cart by customers and for the system to be able to take the user information and store it. Thanks.

  5. Oh, final question. The 20 second switch works fine although the first special offer takes 20 seconds to appear is there any way I can get one to appear on load before the switcher starts?
  6. ahh trés bien. Can't thank you enough, gonna have to put you on my references. +1 for all your posts.

  11. Right after a lot of trial and error I have my special offers automatically and randomly loading, however it switches every half second, I have tried to alter the code to affect the timer to no avail. I assume I need some sort of timer delay? maybe another function? any idea? Here's the javascript that affects the population: function updateTarget( txt ) { document.getElementById('target').innerHTML = txt; } function commence(updateTarget) { timer = setInterval("getRequest('getOffers.php', updateTarget);", 100); } var timer = 0;
  12. I think I am responsible for the recent lack of fluffy white kittens then. Thanks Jay but it is an assignment and the requirement is to use self written ajax to produce the desired result. I just have little idea of how to go about this. I am actually looking at your website now at the timer class. Is this the sort of thing that could be adapted to meet my requirements?
  13. Ah good stuff. Any suggestions about the second part?
  14. Hello can anyone tell me why an onload function won't work where an onclick function will? <p onload="getRequest( 'getOffers.php', updateTarget )"> Click Here. </p> <div id="target"> </div> <br /> From here I wish to use ajax to automatically populate special offers every 20 seconds randomly switching through them. <p onclick="getRequest( 'getOffers.php', updateTarget )"> This is the working code I am using right now which randomly switches through special offers on user click. My goal is to remove the need of the user click, instead switch every 20 seconds. A point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Please reply if you need more code to help with this query.
  15. Hi, This is my first post so go easy. If I have failed to provide sufficient information just say. My problem I am sure is basic but I am having no luck. To incorporate a static footer I had to change atround my css, remove margins etc. this has resulted in 1 of my divs moving with the browser (when I shrink the browser horizontally this div stays on the screen, where ideally I would want it to stay put so that it could be viewed with the scrollbar). All of my other divs stay put and they are all part of the same page wrap, with pretty similar code. Please have a look and see if you can spot the fault. Here is what I believe to be the relevant code, please ask for anymore. * {margin:0; padding:0; } body {color: white; font: 14px Georgia, serif; background: #73adbb url(../images/back.jpg) fixed no-repeat;} #page-wrap {width: 100%; height:100%; min-height: 1380px;} #sidebar {position:absolute; width: 241px; top:165px; right:112px;} obviously the sidebar is where the issue is, I have tried a variety of code.
