  1. I will look for some xhtml tutorials myself. I had no idea that there was a difference. ( Complete noob). No offense taken at all mate. Im just scratching around for a good place to begin learning, and do not want to learn an out of date system. Any pointers I can gather are gratefully recieved. Thanks.
  2. Hi. I am a complete newbie to web design, but yesterday found a site which taught me tha basics of html coding in a couple of hours as the explanation is brilliant. I intend to use this site to learn as much as I can and maybe you would like to check it out. Regards, Tony. http://www.virtuallyignorant.com
  3. Hello. I apolagise in advance for being a complete newcomer to the world of web design. I have now got the opportunity and the time to begin my quest to learn about it. I am about to start an OU course, really just to structure some learning, but intend to learn what I can myself outside of this. I really just would like to know any thoughts on buying a computer geared towards web design. I have a budget of £500 at the moment. Is a laptop a good idea, or a new desktop base unit? Are integrated graphics cards ok? I know you all probably have better things to do than answer my noob questions, but any help would be really very appreciated.
  4. I am sure I will. Thanks for the welcome, should be very useful for me here.
  5. Hi. Thank you, that sounds like a good idea. I am completely new to all this though, and have nothing to go on but the inspiration to learn. Im sure my learning will provide some design software to play with in a month or so. Thanks you.
  6. I will be starting my web design venture with a few years learning, with a scope to gain a career from it. I have a clear choice of studying "Certificate in Web Applications Development" at the Open University, or a HNC, the latter taking considerably more time. Any first hand info or advice on which course to take would be much appreciated. Thank you.
