  1. I've made a new Flash site for the gang of people I play DS with once in a while, because we are stepping it up with a championship and trophies. Please tell me what you think. The DS Club
  2. Yea, maybe it would be a good idea to add icons for the windows on the desktop, so you could close them entirely and open them again. That would both add more functionality and make the user faster aware of the UI. Also thoght about just having the windows all open to begin with.
  3. It's pretty nice. Like that it is different, and I don't find navigation that hard either. I do not like the colors, however.
  4. Ok, so I've removed all the text links from the windows menu, and added some information about the menu instead. I then added info pop-ups for the main buttons. Finally, I have changed the power button from going to google, to a javascript snippet that closes the window after a yes/ no choice. Only problem is that it only works in IE, and everywhere I read, people say it can't be done in Firefox yet. Is this still true? Next I'm going to add "functionality" to the search bars, by letting you type text into them and presenting you with a error message that explains that it does not work because this is not the real Windows Vista. Hope it works well. I haven't figured out what i want to use the last two buttons in the windows menu for yet, because I don't think it would look nice if I removed them. Any ideas?
  5. Hi, I want to make it so my site goes full-screen(like when you press F11) after you press past the splash screen. Is this possible to do in HTML? And if so, how? Any help is appreciated.
  6. I don't think the first is that bad. Second is better, though.
  7. For sure, but I think the pop-up info will help a lot. But I don't understand why you have to scroll down, because I run the exact same resolution, and it's fitted "perfect" for that.
  8. Thanks, LYKC! I'm going to polish it up some more. Not done yet I think it'll make it alot clearer what is clickable with rollover info. Also sitting and creating some custom windows warnings right jow, that I think I will use on places that you might think has functionality, but hasn't. Like a "We're(I'm) sorry, but ..." message that pops up like a Vista warning when you click something that has functionality in the Real Vista, but not on my site.
  9. Yea, I'm maybe thinking of cleaning the windows menu and adding a few points I can make up. Or maybe even use some of the links that are already there to display something. Have to think about that one. I have already tried to make it so you can drag the windows around, but the open/close animation becomes out of place when you drag the windows around, and I can't figure out how to get around this. I can skip the open/close animation and have it like the Messenger window, but again, I think that ruins alot of the visual impression. If anyone here knows how to keep a tween point, while moving a movieclip, I'd be more than happy to hear. Pop-ups and tool tips are definatily coming(although not in English). It'll be the next thing I work on.
  10. Vista Slin? Slim? If you mean that I should drop the whole concept, you can forget it. Come up with something constructive instead. And I don't see how the strech would work, when I have a background like I do. There would also be problems with the open/close animations of the windows, if the position was dynamic.
  11. The thought is that it is my computer you see. First you zoom in on it, and them you can get the info about me from it. It's not supposed to have direct relevans to my portfolio, but to be an original idea that shows off my work in an original way. But how would you suggest I make it span full screen? This is 100% flash, and people have different resolutions.
  12. About the buttons; What buttons do you mean? The ones in the open windows? I have thought of that, but I would have to remove them, losing a lot of the visual impression, because I don't really see how I could add any functionality to them that makes sense. About the white color; Well, the white is a deliberate design choice, so that stays. About the info; that is displayed in the same place file info is given in windows. I considered linking to work I have done with the apps instead, but I haven't really got enough online to make a good impression. I'm sure to change the links in the "færdigheder" windows to my own work, when I get the stuff online The links in the windows menu makes sense, I think, so they stay. Those are the apps used to create this particular site. And you know, it's ok that you have to think for a second before you know what's going on. I like to show that I'm different and will always try to get original ideas that makes you go hmm
  13. Simple, nice looking and smooth. I like it alot.
  14. Hallo, Please take a look at my portfolio and tell me what you think of the idea and design. Dansk IT Design It's not all done yet. Need to add info pop-ups on mouseover on the main buttons, code for the site to change to a theme fitting the 4 seasons of the year whenever we go into a new season, and a female voice to present the site. Also, a few minor bugs with the windows has to be fixed.
  15. There is obviously some small kinks that needs to be ironed out, but I really like your design. Looks very nice and clean.
