problem passing email addrss string from form using post method
i've changed the method to GET, i'm wondering wether its something to do with the submit input on the form... take another look. When you get the string printed out it shows both the email string and the submit value in the url. When it doesnt work it doesnt show the submit value. So the isset($_GET['submit']) won't work so it prints the page out as normal. Think im on the right lines?

problem passing email addrss string from form using post method
Ok, i was just making screen shots and i've realised that the problem isnt the @ sign. no wonder i could find any thing on it. It seems really random. i tried entering the string 'without' and it didnt do anything. but a rnadom set of letters such as 'sfsefse' does work and it is printed out as it should be. here is the link see to the form http://www.billinghamtrampolineclub.co.uk/retreivelogin.php ive programmed for a while now but have never had a weird problem like this. It will probably still come down to a silly little error.

problem passing email addrss string from form using post method
Below is how i have it set out in the php file. I intend on adding some mysql and mail() functions to it but for now this doesnt even work. This is copied straight from the php file. if(isset($_POST['submit'])){ $email = $_POST['email']; if(strlen($email)>0){ print $email; }else{ print 'Nothing has been entered<br /><br />'; } } print 'If you have already registered an email address with your account, enter that address below and your username and password will be sent to you immediately. Please delete the email once you have used it.<br /><br />'; print '<form name="email" method="post" action="retreivelogin.php"> Email: <input type="text" name="email" /><br /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Retreive login details" />'; thanks again J. problem passing email addrss string from form using post method
Hey guys, I have a simple form which allows the user to enter an email address associated with there account into an input field. I'll show you the code: Form code <form name="email" method="post" action="retreivelogin.php"> Email: <input type="text" name="email" /><br /> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Retreive login details" /> retrivelogin.php code if(isset($_POST['submit'])){ $email = $_POST['email']; print $email; } Now the problem bieng that the @ sign seems to be ruining it somehow... standrad text strings print out nicely as they should, where as email addresses don't. I have searched for hours for a solution but running low on time and need to get this working. Thank you in advance Jonathan Vickers

Professional Black Design
would depend how you made the drop shadow, photoshop it and you'll be fine, maybe someone else has other methods of creating drop shadows lol
-
Professional Black Design
use a drop shadow effect along the bottom of the header. On top of a lighter background - i dunno, might not work but probably worth a try.
-
Professional Black Design
how does it look with just a white background and a drop shadow coming off the header?

Professional Black Design
Looking at it again i think the header needs shrinking abit before continueing the right side across the page - hopefully it would look quite cool and that would help balance the page a little bit, as at the moment the header is soo big and in your face the page content may appear abit overshadowed. think that is a good idea? So basically it would be good to have the actual image you've already got taking up maybe a 3rd of the width then the other 2 3rds just a continuation of the colours from the logo. Understand what i mean? im abit tired so my wording may be abit off!

Professional Black Design
I like the header, looks like it should be on the side of a tube of toothpaste. its always weird experimenting with black backgrounds... no matter what you seem to try theres always an amateurish feel to it. I have seen some examples where it has worked ok, will try and pick a few out and post back Jonny Vickers

Hand drawn designs
Hey WDF Think it would be a cool idea if people could post some sketches theyve made for a specific project and if possible link it to a finished product. I'll try and get some designs scanned in as everything i do starts on paper. Looking foward to seeing peoples work! Jonny Vickers
