Michael@simplewebdesigns replied to Michael@simplewebdesigns's topic in Website Reviews and FeedbackThanks again for some very interesting comments. Can anyone point me in the right direction for resources on the web for creating web 2.0 style web sites and also where i can learn more about different types of codes to use. I have looked at the sites that Charlotte posted i like the look of these sites and these are the type of designs i would love to be creating so any advice on where to look would be much appreciated. Also any tips and advice on how to create professional looking images, buttons, etc to use in my designs would be much appreciated Cheers M

I need help!
Hi there people. I recently decided to try my hand at web design and signed up to a course for Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash. Now i feel after posting on here i may have jumped in at the deep end without really researching all the areas of web design. Can anyone point me in the right direction to some websites where i can learn how to create more modern looking websites (i.e web 2.0 sites) rather than the old style ones that the course i under took has taught me how to make. I would still like to carry on using dreamweaver for the time being (although some of you would probably advise against this!!) while i learn more about coding as i am able to use both design and code view in Dreamweaver. Also after looking at some of the sites on here i'm curious as to know how people create there own images logo's buttons etc. I do have photoshop and illustrator but i'm not very good at graphic design myself. Does anyone have any tips for creating eye catching modern designs for my sites that i create. Obviously i realise i have a lot to learn but i would really appreciate a push in the right direction. I look forward to recieving some advice and learning what i find a very interesting subject Michael

1st web site
Michael@simplewebdesigns replied to Michael@simplewebdesigns's topic in Website Reviews and FeedbackHi Thanks for the quick responses guys. I've edited the link on the post now so it should work. I know the site is a little simple but as its my fist one my knowledge is a little limited right now. I did notice the blue border around the image links! Why is that have i missed out something? Do i need to add new classes for my links? Michael

Newbie to web design
Hi there everyone! I'm Michael and i have recently completed a course in the use of Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash with a view to starting a small buisness in web design called Simple Web Designs. I've joined here to get some tips and advice on how to make my pages look more professional, advice on SEO and also just to meet other web designers out there. I have created my first ever web page and published it to advertise my services and would really appreciate some of the experienced users to cast a critical eye over it and tell me what you think and also point me in the right direction. I look forward to learning from you. Michael http://www.simplewebdesigns.org.uk
