Thanks for the reply dude, some really good info in there. Again I aint wanting to give away to much of what I am trying to do at this early stage. I wouldn't say that it is unique in any way but I certainly have a good name, domain and business name(if you can call it that) that is, as well as a design. It will ether do ok, or flop. Nothing gained nothing ventured, that's what I always say. The way I see it, I spend about 80% of my time watching videos online when I am on the net. I think compared to most normal people on the net I watch a hell of a lot of video. I have over 80+ websites that I visit over the course of 2 days in my bookmarks. Hopefully that will give you an idea about what the website will be like. I plan to bring the very best! of video from around the net to one easy to source(and remember)place, that's more or less it in a nut shell. I think I am gona need to spend a pretty penny in advertising though once I have every thing up and running 100% The website will be simple enough to use, there will be no user interaction in terms of uploading etc, I mean they can certainly send there videos to us to be considered for the websites via a form like you mentioned on the website but its gona be nothing like what youtube got setup. I was also thinking of maybe having a photos section but I really don't know, ill see how the video thing goes first then if it takes off ill look into photos. I have always wanted to run an manage a big website that had allot of traffic since I got into computers back in 1999, I am now 18 and have been in the game for a while so i feel its time to start a new venture! Thank's for all the feedback guys, every thing you guys have mentioned above has been taken into account and will be referred to throughout the design process of this website. I plan to launch the website around august time as I already have a foundations for a design setup, I will keep you guys updated and post the link back here for you guys to check out once and leave feedback etc. - Anton.

Ah I see what your saying, at current I do have categories for posts etc and a search bar to allow users to search for videos using tags I specify in the posts I think lol again I am not a wordpress wiz. - Anton P.s. as a side note, is there any way of roughly estimating how much each of the above websites make in Ad revenue? Just roughly as I know the likes of break.com use custom ads instead of conventional methods like google ads etc, Tia - Anton.

Hi thanks for the reply, without giving away to much (cause I have been thinking this idea over in my head for some time now) the site will take video in from other sources i.e. my servers themselves will host no video, nor will there be any type of registering or user uploading. Now I know that links to other sources can change and its not the most reliable way of doing things but the whole purpose of this website will be to display only the latests and greatest videos on the web with the ability to search for previous latest and greatest, the the main focus will be just the latest and greatest videos. i.e. I don't plan to embed any old crappy video, just the good ones lol Hope that gives you a good idea of what I am trying to achieve without giving away to much. Thanks for the reply, at the moment I am working on modifying a theme I bought from theme forest for WordPress, though I don't think WordPress is the right CMS for this task, there is to much red tape when restricted to posts. Do you know of any video websites like above that use any of the common CMS's? Regards Anton.

Yes the minimum requirements may be 1GB but if you had 100 different projects open in Photoshop the RAM would soon be an issue. You see when he go's to save the project in Photoshop it creates a copy of the project, in ram. That is then saved to wherever he specifies. So as well as the RAM storing the project when he is working on it in Photoshop it also must then be used to store another copy of the project when he go's to save it. So the memory usage would effectively double when he goes to save it. The error message he is getting certainly says that the ram is indeed the problem.

Yea, usually this means well... what it says. Newer version of Photoshop i.e. cs4, 5 & .5 have also produced this issue for me, I only have 3GB of ramn though. It seems adobes new products are more of a resource hog than that of previous products, especially that god dam after effects..... One way in which I try to get around this problem is to kill any tasks that are hogging memory via task manager(kill explorer.exe to). This should free up more memory allowing Photoshop to utilise the free memory. I am not promising that this will work as it will all depend on the size of the project you are working on in Photoshop but its worth a try. If that fails I would try braking the project up you are working on into different files and save them individually that way. - Anton

Hey guys I am trying to figure out which platform i.e. drupal, wordpress etc the following websites are running on. 1. http://www.break.com 2. http://www.liveleak.com 3. http://www.killsometime.com 4. http://www.ebaumsworld.com If anyone has even the slightest idea as to what the above sites are using as there platform i.e. drupal, wordpress or custom etc. Please reply to this thread. Also if any one knows of any themes in any well knows CMS's that can give the same look and feel of any of the websites listed above that I am looking for then again please reply. Hi guys iv never relly used javaS before apart from a little tiny bit with php, any ways im trying to figure out how i can get a little java script to check if some has visited a website, so if they had visited the web site the link would be purple or w/e. here is an example of what i am trying to do http://www.haveyourfriendsbeenthere.com More or less how this website works is that a link is generated some how (dont know how thats done ethir) you send the link to some one, and were ever that link that was generated take you to check something (this i dont no ethir but i think its only purple links, it checks them agenst a big list of websites stored some where on the webserver) it then feeds the results back to you via the webpage u generated the link from. hope that explains it all i am just verry intrested on how this is done, can any one shed some light on it code snippets perhaphs. Ah right.... so were do they pull the a:visited from??? i mean it must be stored some where for the java scrip to check it... I more or less want to recreat this site but im no to knolagble in java scrip i would probally hvae to learn a bit first.
