  1. Thanks for all the feedback, some great points, especially regarding JS and Opera... although you have just created me some more work!
  2. Hi! It's been a bit of while since I was last on this forum however the last time I asked for feedback on my personal portfolio it was very valuable. So, if you don't mind, I'm here to do it again. I recently joined an agency and the first task was to revamp the existing site. I wonder if you guys could give me some feedback on the design, the content, maybe something I've missed along the way etc. It would all be greatly appreciated! www.awesem.co.uk
  3. Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated. Between here and other places I've got a better understanding of what it is people like/dislike. I originally planned to have multiple pages but due to time restraints I had to stick to a single page. With that in mind I thought the scrolling would make the page look a little more interesting. By all means feel free Thanks for that, noted, will try and fix when I get the chance. Yeah I had quite a problem with the jQuery scroll on different browsers. It had a funny quirk that if the anchor it was linking to was within the viewport it wouldn't sroll (or jump for that matter) So to fix I had to make the height of each content area taller then any browser window. Can't quite remember what browser it was but thats the reason for the spacing. I may have been able to fill it better who knows. Thanks for all the feedback guys, I appreciate it.
  4. Hi guys, I posted on here a while ago looking for feedback and it was valuable input so here I am again. I have modified my portfolio site and I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks! http://www.ormanclark.com
  5. Just in case you wanted to know, found them. http://www.icondrawer.com/buy.php
  6. Does anyone know what icons are used on this site and where I might find them? http://www.campaignmonitor.com/ Thanks for the help!
  7. Based on some of the feedback from here and other places I've done an Alan Sugar special and tweaked a few bits; the logo, rounded a few bits and changed the logo icon. I decided that I was going to have a theme switcher so have done two more backgrounds/styles. Feedback would be appreciated and if you have any ideas for more types of background then do share. Right now I have space, earth and under the sea. 8. No, I don't really do too much flash. Right now my favourite bit of kit is jQuery so I imagine the more 'dynamic' parts will be powered by that.
  9. Thanks, appreciated. Emailed! Haha, you need to set your sites higher than that, you're better than I was at 19 trust me!
  10. I sure do know Hartley Wintney! I drove through there just last night when I was picking up a kitten, nice place. Erm, been doing art since school (28 now) then went into graphic design when I was about 20, moved to web at about 22/23. At about 25 it got fuzzy. Tried a few of my own projects which needed marketing so subsequently learnt about SEO/PPC and now I find myself almost solely in marketing as a result. So to answer your question about 5 yrs on and off
  11. Thanks for all the feedback so far, there's been some great points pointed out by some people (on here and in other places) that are a bit hard to spot when you're too close to something. Much appreciated and keep it coming, I'll more than likely do a couple of revisions and get some more feedback from you all. Nope, haven't got a site online yet, this is not the first one ever but the first one for a while. I'm actually in SEO at the moment but was previously a web designer. Looking to do a few more design projects as it's something I love hence the new site. Looking to improve my portfolio. Yep, I thought that too. Not sure what to do with the whole egg thing. If I'm honest it makes me smile a bit which is good but it's not your typical logo - playing on my mind - any suggestions are appreciated. Fold on sticker point taken. I thought this too, have been thinking about inserting it in the header section by the dummy text as it currently stands. I'll have a play. Well... I'm trying to build my portfolio so I am actually pretty cheap Half and half. Admittedly I'm better in Photoshop than I am in Illustrator... actually perhaps I should say quicker rather than better. I bought in a couple of the more complex elements (racoon, humming birds) to save time and just went ahead and created the rest myself.
  12. Hi there, This is my first post so guess I should introduce myself. My name is Orman Clark and I'm a designer / marketer based in the UK. Just working on my new site, only in the mock up stage and would appreciate some feedback on what I've got so far. Be brutal if you like, just looking to improve it. It's not the finished article and a few bits are bugging me, particularly the logo (it's not simple, good for print, scalable etc) and the brown footer part so would especially appreciate feedback for these areas. Anyway, take a look, let me know what you think. Thanks, Orman Orman Clark Mockup
