Float Issue - Trying to Stack divs w/sidebar
I am re-doing my site, but having an issue with floats. I am going to be using the Sticky Footer 2010 style to have sticky footer on website. I have a central part of the website that the content goes. I have a side bar on the right, and I then want multiple divs that have content going down the left side. I have chosen to put them in a class as I plan on having multiple of them down that side. Of course the side bar doesn't stretch right to the bottom as it will just contain links generally. However, at the moment the side bar and everything is correct, but the two div classes are next to each other - I want them to be stacked below each other, and this pushes the sidebar down. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" l11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title> - Home Page</title> <link href="/css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <!--[if !IE 7]> <style type="text/css"> #wrap {display:table;height:100%} </style> <![endif]--> </head> <body> <div id="wrap"> <div id="header">Header</div> <div id="pri_nav">Pri Nav</div> <div id="sub_nav">Sub Nav</div> <div id="content_wrapper">Content <div id="content_central"> <div class="left_info"> <p>Left Info Upper</p> </div> <!-- End left_info class div --> <div class="left_info"> <p>Left Info lower</p> </div><!-- End left_info class div --> <div id="side_bar"> <p>Side bar</p> </div><!-- End of side-bar div --> <div class="clear"></div> </div><!-- end of content_central div --> </div><!-- End of content_wrapper div --> </div><!-- End of wrap div --> <div id="footer">Footer Here</div> </body> </html> @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ * {margin:0;padding:0;} html, body {height: 100%;} .clear {clear:both} #wrap {min-height: 100%; width: 100%; background-color: #f8f8f8;} #header{width: 100%; background-color: red; height: 500px;} #pri_nav{width: 100%; background-color: blue; height: 100px;} #sub_nav {width100%; background-color: green; height: 50px;} #content_wrapper {overflow:auto; padding-bottom: 150px;} /* must be same height as the footer */ #content_central {width: 900px; margin: 0 auto; background-color: yellow;} .left_info {width: 400px; float:left; height: 350px;} #side_bar {width: 250px; float:right; height: 500px;} #footer {position: relative; margin-top: -150px; /* negative value of footer height */height: 150px;clear:both;} /*Opera Fix*/ body:before {/* thanks to Maleika (Kohoutec)*/ content:""; height:100%; float:left; width:0; margin-top:-32767px;/* thank you Erik J - negate effect of float*/ }

Galleria Help
I am having trouble getting Galleria started. I am just trying it with two large images for the moment so I can get it working more or less before I mess around with the thumbs. At the moment all I get are two images side by side and it's like the juery or galleria code is not being executed, but nothing stands out for me in the html that's wrong. Of course, I am missing something or not doing something correct. I have had to take out the website address code in the head section of the code as I am not allowed to post links yet and of course those are links. Any help much appreciated. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" ".org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="w.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Architecture - Portfolio</title> <link href="/css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="jax.googleapis/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="/galleria/galleria-1.2.2.min.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"><!-- Begin Wrapper --> <div id="header"></div><!-- End Header --> <div id="header_image"><!-- Begin Header_Image--> <img src="/images/header_main.jpg" /></div> <!-- End Header_Image --> <div id="pri_nav"><!-- Begin Pri_Nav--> <ul> <li><a href="/index" >HOME</a></li> <li><a href="/architecture" class="navselect">ARCHITECTURE</a></li> <li><a href="/landscape" >LANDSCAPE</a></li> <li><a href="/contact" >CONTACT</a></li> </ul> </div><!-- End Pri Nav--> <div id="sec_nav"><!-- Begin Sec Nav--> <ul> <li><a href="/architecture" >About</a></li> <li><a href="/architecture/portfolio" class="sec_navselect">Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="/architecture/prints" >Print Sales</a></li> <li><a href="/architecture/stock" >Stock Sales</a></li> </ul> </div><!-- End Sec Nav--> <div id="content"><!-- Begin Content Container --> <div id="single_col"> <h1>May I Present To You My Architectural Portfolio</h1> <p>Welcome to my architecture portfolio. Brilliant, thank you. I think that works a lot better than my previous attempts. Cheers

Nav Bar Issue
I've done something else and happy with results, but I do have a new problem: I have a secondary navigation bar. I can't get the links to be centrally alligned and I have no idea why. #sec_nav {width: 100%; background:yellow; height: 33px; background-image:url(../images/secnav_bg.jpg); background-repeat:repeat-x;} #sec_nav ul { margin: 0 auto; list-style: none; height: 31px; width: 500px} #sec_nav li {float: left; padding-right: 20px;} #sec_nav a {height: 33px; color:#999999; display: block; width: auto;text-decoration: none; font-size: 10px; font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; width: 100%} #sec_nav a:hover, #sec_nav a.sec_navselect {color: #333333; background-color: transparent; background-image: url("../images/secnav_arrow.jpg"); background-repeat: no-repeat;background-position: center bottom; text-decoration:none} <div id="sec_nav"><!-- Begin Sec Nav--> <ul> <li><a href="/index" class="sec_navselect">About</a></li> <li><a href="/portfolio" >Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href="/prints" >Print Sales</a></li> <li><a href="/stock" >Stock Sales</a></li> </ul> </div><!-- End Sec Nav-->

Nav Bar Issue
I'd liek try a different solution please as that puts it to the left of everything and looks quite lob sided as it's always to the left of the li I just want them in between the links - the line thing that is.

Nav Bar Issue
Okay, I have a horizontal nav bar and it is working. I have a little arrow on the bottom of it for it to be the onstate look and hover. It works fine. However, I have some line spacers <li>|</li> between the links and I can't move them down without destroying the position of the bottom arrow below each link in the prinav bar. Also, what's the best way to separate the links so they're nice evenly spaced. @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ * { padding: 0; margin: 0; } body {font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;} .clearfix {clear:both} #wrapper { margin: 0 auto; width: 1000px;} #header { width: 1000px; float: left; height: 100px; background: #FFFFFF; background-image:url(../images/header_title.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:center;} #header_image {width: 1000px; height: 400px;} #pri_nav {width: 1000px; background:#0000CC; height: 42px; background-image:url(../images/prinav_bg.jpg); background-repeat:repeat-x} #pri_nav ul {list-style-type: none; width: 300px; margin: 0 auto;} #pri_nav li{display:inline; float:left;} #pri_nav a {height: 35px; font-family: "Lucida Sans";color: black;float: left; display: block; padding-top: 7px} #pri_nav a:hover, #pri_nav a.navselect {color: #ffffff; background-color: transparent; background-image: url("../images/pri_arrow.jpg"); background-repeat: no-repeat;background-position: center bottom;} #sec_nav{width: 1000px; background:#999999; height: 25px} #content {padding: 10px; width: 980px; background-color: #CCCCCC; overflow:hidden;} #left_col{ float: left; width: 565px; height: auto; background: none; padding: 10px; overflow:auto} #right_col{ float: right; width: 365px; height: auto; background: none; padding: 10px;} #footer {width: 1000px;color: #333; background: #BD9C8C;} <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "R/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="rg/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <link href="css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"><!-- Begin Wrapper --> <div id="header"><!-- Begin Header --> <p> </p> </div> <!-- End Header --> <div id="header_image"><!-- Begin Header_Image--> </div><!-- End Header_Image --> <div id="pri_nav"><!-- Begin Pri_Nav--> <ul> <li><a href="/index" class="navselect">HOME</a></li> <li>|</li> <li><a href="/weddings" >WEDDINGS</a></li> <li>|</li> <li><a href="/contact" >LANDSCAPE</a></li> <li>|</li> <li><a href="/contact" >CONTACT</a></li> </ul> </div><!-- End Pri Nav--> <div id="sec_nav">Sec<!-- Begin Sec Nav--> </div><!-- End Sec Nav--> <div id="content"> <!-- Begin Content Container --> <div id="left_col"><!-- Begin Left Column --> <p>leftjkjk sfdfsd f d fd fd</p> </div><!-- End Left Column --> <div id="right_col"><!-- Begin Right Column --> <p>Right</p> </div> <!-- End Right Column --> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div><!-- End Content Container --> <div id="footer"><!-- Begin Footer --> <p>Footer</p> <p> </p> </div><!-- End Footer --> </div><!-- End Wrapper --> </body> </html>

Css Div / Float Issue
I am redesigning my website, and I am starting from scratch, but I've totally bothed it already and got a bit stuck and forgetful. I have two floats in a container div. I want the floats to have no background color and depend on the color of 'container'. This works fine if I give the 'container' a fixed height in pixels, but without that the floating divs left and right revert back to the color white. Just wondering how to get round this. Is it a issue with clearing? Obviously I don't want to give the 'container' a fixed height in pixels as all sites in my website will have varied heights. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <link href="css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"><!-- Begin Wrapper --> <div id="header"><!-- Begin Header --> <p>Header</p> </div><!-- End Header --> <div id="header_image"><!-- Begin Header_Image--> </div><!-- End Header_Image --> <div id="pri_nav"><!-- Begin Pri_Nav--> </div><!-- End Pri Nav--> <div id="sec_nav"><!-- Begin Sec Nav--> </div><!-- End Sec Nav--> <div id="content"> <!-- Begin Content Container --> <div id="left_col"><!-- Begin Left Column --> <p>left</p> </div><!-- End Left Column --> <div id="right_col"><!-- Begin Right Column --> <p>Right</p> </div><!-- End Right Column --> </div><!-- End Content Container --> <div id="footer"><!-- Begin Footer --> <p>Footer</p> <p> </p> </div><!-- End Footer --> </div><!-- End Wrapper --> </body> </html> @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ * { padding: 0; margin: 0; } body {font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;} #wrapper { margin: 0 auto; width: 1000px;} #header { width: 1000px; float: left; height: 100px; background: #FFFFFF} #header_image {width: 1000px; height: 600px;} #pri_nav {width: 1000px; background:#0000CC; height: 45px} #sec_nav{width: 1000px; background:#999999; height: 35px} #content {width: 1000px; background-color: red; height:200px;} #left_col{ float: left; width: 600px; height: auto; background: none} #right_col{ float: right; width: 400px; height: auto; background: none} #footer {width: 1000px; clear: both; color: #333; background: #BD9C8C;} Thanks for any help.

Dreamweaver & Stickyfooter Problem
I am using the sticky footer code from sticky footer website. I am in process of building my website. I have a little issue. I do prefer to code with split view in Dreamweaver so I can see it as I go along. Problem is I have the footer not sticking tot the bottom in dreamweaver, the #main div not going to the bottom and a UL list that gets cut off at the bottom. This only happens in Dreamweaver, and seems to render find in various browsers. It's more of an annoyance really Just wondering if this is a dreamweaver issue, or am I missing something in the code? I have the UL list at the bottom inside a div - div#equipment. However, I'd like there to be a gap of aroun d 50x pixels between that and the footer. Is the only way to do that to use 'margin-bottom: 50px'? Understanding the Coda Slider 2
I see. So it's like a normal navigation bar then with on state, hover etc. Would that explain then why on his site each time I click the thumbnail a #number appears in the address bar because it's actually going to a new page?

Understanding the Coda Slider 2
I am about to try, for the first time, to use Coda Slider. I've never used Jquery and a slider. I've been looking at the code and the code on example sites. Looking at the CSS and HTML side of things. One thing that has stumped me is that on this slider I would want thumbnails as the navigation links below the main image similar to colinprior.co.uk However, for the life of me I can not find the HTML markup that has the navigation links in most of the coda based sites. AM I missing something? I can see the CSS sides of things, but the HTML/XHTML Has totally stumped me. I would thought it

Domain Name Registrant Change & Advice.
Hello, I'm now scheduled to be taking over someone's domain name and hosting. Both of which will be under my control. The hosting will be transferred from Zen to Vidahost and the domain name to be internal transferred to my 123 reg account and then the owners details changed to mine. The domain is a .co.uk I just wanted to know what's the best process for all of this to happen very smoothly with minimal disruption. Domain name: The bit am more confused about is the domain name transfer. It will be done internally through 123 reg, which is easy enough as I already have an account with 123 reg of which already has a domain name there. 1) Will all the settings remain after the internal transfer or will I have to re-set those up? 2) What about changing domain details such as name of owner and address? Is that best done before the internal transfer or after? I'm aware a fee is involved via Nominet and that's fine, but does the current owner have to sign something? 3) How long does this take? 4) 'Cause it's internal all I have to change is nameservers and not any other tags? 5) The domain name has to be transferred through Nominet to new owner (me) and obviously also has to be done at the 123 reg side of things to - which order does that have to be or doesn't matter what order? Hosting: The current hosting is with Zen and I want to transfer it from his Zen account to Vidahost account. 1) Is it possible that I can purchase hosthing account right now under the domain name I want it to be, and setup all the email accounts, but remain inactive till the nameservers are changed and pointing to vidahosts? OBvioulsy the domain name i'll be getting is obviously still in use with the zen/123 reg setup so can i still setup the vidahost side of things? Thank you for assistance.
