My Re-Design

Well I know there is still abit of tweaking and i havent validated the page's yet, but what you think so far?

Hey I like it.. though, one thing I nearly always comment on, whilst reviewing sites like these are shadowing.. I noticed that some of your pencils should have shadows, if you look hard enough you'll see which ones I'm talking about. Other then that shadow issue, very nice :)

Sorry to say but I'm not too keen on this, the background image is a bad idea, if someone has a large monitor then the website looks completely wrong. The pencils need shadowing and also the pen is all skewed out of proportion, the Orbit chewing gum looks wrong because of the lighting and probably carries some serious copyright infringement issues of its own. The contact details on the business card are very hard to read.

The only thing I like on this whole thing is the nav at the top, but even that doesn't make sense, why would someone have ripped up pieces of paper placed like that on their desk? The whole point with these kind of things is to bridge the gap between normal navigation and mystery meat navigation, which you have failed to do. For example you could have a picture frame as a link to your portfolio, a telephone as a contact link etc, then just have graffiti scratched into the desk pointing at the items to describe them.

Everything has a certain depth to it (except the pre-mentioned pencils) but the sheet of paper doesn't. This makes it look really bad, it's a little strange to begin with as there is a computer font on lined paper, it'd make more sense just to have plain copier-paper with a few sheets underneath it so that it looks like paper. The business card also doesn't have any depth to it.

My advice is to get rid of the business card, do the stuff with the paper I mentioned in the last paragraph and get rid of the chewing gum and one of the pencils. Your composition is all over the place right now as well, I don't know where to place my eyes there are things leading them away from the content. Also try fixing the background so it doesn't break on larger resolutions.

Edit: The scale of the desk texture is too big also.

I like the concept but it lacks a little resolution and clarity.

The images need shadowing as mentioned above but they also need to be sharper as they are a little blurred and not easy on the eye.

Good luck with the redesign

I think as there isn't that much textual content here you should write it in flash or flex as it will look a lot nicer with smooth fonts etc and you can embed your text content in noscript tags to ensure that google sees it.

I like the idea, the mobile phone background for the contact has a bit of a jagged edge which i dont like but overall i like it. Just a few grammatical errors here and there which SHOUT out to me if i was a potential employer that would put me off which i can go into if you wish.
