Mac or PC

Featured Replies

Hi,

At work I am going to be given everything needed for designing - they suggested a Mac.

Never used a Mac before but hear its what most designers use

Should i take it or get a better PC?

(Although it would be kinda cool to have 2 stations on my desk - a Mac and a PC + x2 monitors - 1337 or what)

Use which ever you are more comfortable with.

You will need access to both anyway to test the webpages in different browsers and operating systems.

Mac and a PC, I would say both, they almost come hand in hand for cross browser testing

get i.e 6 as well its a pain in the butt but you still need it

I use both on a regular basis.

The software is virtually identical. Things like dreamweaver and photoshop are pretty much the same. Some of the keyboard shortcuts are a little different (ctrl on the PC, apple key on the Mac) but apart from that you should be able to seamlessly switch between the two.

On a personal level, I find the Mac a much nicer faster environment to work in.
