March 22, 20179 yr Hi, WebDesignerForum. I am working on a website and have recently come into some issues where the website is slightly broken where it did work in the past. I have supplied screenshots of what it should look like if anyone is able to take a look at my code and let me know how I could fix it and how I broke it so I don't make the same mistakes. The website in question is at https://daniel-chaplin.co.uk The first issue is the image below is what the website should look like, but as you'll see from the website, there seems to be a lot of spacing forcing the header image background to have a greater height than the image. I would like it so the image is exact to the page so when slightly scrolled down it starts to show the about me page if that makes sense. The second problem is the menu background is no longer appearing, as you can see by the picture below the text links are just showing without the dark background. The image below shows what it should look like. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I am hoping it's a small simple problem as it did work. I had a previous problem I fixed, now created two more. Many thanks in advance
March 22, 20179 yr I'm glad that you have solved your problem. It is great that you posted about it here as I'm working on my website in order to start my own business. I don't know what you used for the creation of your site, but I chose one of the wordpress ecommerce themes, and I hope there won't be such problems in my work, but I think that everyone can face this challenge. Thanks for sharing the solution!

Thanks for sharing the solution! Hi. Personally, Wordpress can be useful if you want a CMS approach so it's great for basic skills, but for more control and better design, I would recommend basic HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. You can even use templates to get you started and learn, it's very easy to get going, you'll be surprised if you just follow some basic tutorials until you get the hang of it. If you want something like Wordpress, I would search for a CMS (Content Management System) which helps you make a website easily with minimal margin to make errors. If you want to know me, private message me, I don't mind advising.
