July 14, 201511 yr Just a quick questions for you guys that have your own websites to present yourself and your services. Is it better for the website to have a kind of personal feel, with my bio etc. or should it be more aimed on my 'brand' where basically I am not mentioning myself anywhere and refer to my services in plural? (we provide... ) I've seen both, but I am not sure what's better. I am now working on a redesign of my site. Previously I didn't include anything about myself, but I was sort of lacking content - only had the actual portfolio / work references and a list of services I offer. I'd like to have it a bit more complex and professional this time.. I've seen a lot of freelancers / designers have their site quite personal. What do you think ?

July 15, 201511 yr Author Well are you wanting to come across as a freelancer or a company, really it depends on what you want. ye, good point. After some time, I'd definitely want to make it into a small company. fldesi*n.sk/ (just fill the g in - don't want google to show this in search results, as I had negative experience with this before) But for me personally, it's a bit strange if a single person refers to himself in plural - especially if it's a really small business / site with no proper content. I really can't imagine what content I should put up.. except a short description, portfolio and contact info.

Answering your own question I really can't imagine what content I should put up.. except a short description, portfolio and contact info. Have a look at other freelancers and their sites, I'm not saying copying them, that would be naughty but it will give you ideas of how others use their websites, to start with I'd put about me (you not me ), examples of your work (portfolio obviously ) and a contact page, maybe a blog, you might want a section that describes what you can do and your skills. I've been developing websites for years (on and off, here an there), somehow though I've still not got anything to show lol, but with a recent change in career I'm working on it at the moment and too are in your position, where I'm wanting to get my site up and running. I work for a web development company near where I live, I'm also attempting to moonlight as a freelancer in my spare time ( I've checked with my boss, as long as it doesn't conflict he's okay with it ).
