July 1, 200818 yr Hi, i'm a new user - so hello everyone! I am learning web design and development at a slow but sure pace! I am designing a site for a client which is a portflio style site. It includes video clips, audio clips and some examples of published writing work. I am fine designing this type of site if i am the person in control - however the client has asked if they can update the content themselves, ie post new videos / replace videos and the text associated with them. I have looked at some CMS sites, but they all seem very template driven and not helpful for an existing site. I have also considered using SSI (server side include) to update files - but this seems a bit complex for a client to use. does anyone have any pointers or ideas for being able to do this? much appreciated Ian
July 1, 200818 yr CMS is the way to go - Content Management System Try Wordpress, Drupal etc. My personal fav is Nucleus (although their site is down at the mo!) and, yes, they are all template driven but that's where your design skills come in to play.

It looks like a pretty intuitive easy cms that can incorporate existing html designs. I'm going to give it a whirl a the weekend to see what its like. anyone else had a try? naturaledge
