I'm new to this forum so would just like to start by saying Hello!

I'm also fairly new to web design, I've got a good understanding of the concepts, HTML & CSS etc but I'm not very experienced. I'm learning as I go at the moment.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could either name the effect on the following website or perhaps point me in the direction of a tutorial or resource in relation to the effect:

http://themeforest.unitedthemes.com/wpversions/brooklyn/basic/

If you scroll down towards the bottom of that web page to the 'Work' heading, there's 9 images that have a fantastic zoom effect (which I can't seem to find anywhere) and an overlay. I'm wondering what's the best way to go about achieving this or if anyone can point me in the right direction so I can find out more. I'm assuming it's some kind of jquery plugin.

Cheers.
