Could anyone give me ideas on how I could redesign navigation

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have redesigned my sit a little bit:

What's your opinion on navigation bar on left? To be more specific, would visitors notice to click on "Photos" link at left or should it be somehow more visible? If it *should* be redesigned, could you please be so nice and give me suggestions on how it should look?

I have tried an other design, but that 1) doesn't look nice 2) I am not sure wether it would be easier.

The thing is that I need to show path somewhere

But then I would display articles twice:

Well the font isn't probably the most pleasing to eye but I am after intuitive navigation here rather than 100% beautiful font.

hi

you think more creative it design is not better and effective .. looks are so old you make your website HTML 5 & CSS3 Wirh Resposive site.....

Being intuitive and aesthetically pleasing aren't mutually exclusive. If something doesn't look professional it undermines the perception of its quality. As a hobbyist you have free rein to explore UI design in whatever way you want, be experimental, create something spectacular. Just because you can.

Many of the links throughout the site are the same colour and font style as the body text. This makes it difficult to spot linked items. You're also using a light blue colour for some text links, but not all. There needs to be consistency across the whole site.

The biggest issue with the navigation is the lack of architecture. Your using categories for content that requires it's own page (categories are generally a way of grouping content), menu items disappear when you visit certain sections, and the mixture of tags and topics is extremely confusing. Having looked briefly at the site, I'd consider taking a step back and looking at how the content could be better structured.
