Hi, I need some advice for the design of my website.... I'm going to attach a photo to show what I am talking about....

I don't know what to do with the logo, I must use it, and can't modify it in photoshop or whatever... so... is this a good place or what could I do to make it better (talking about the design)....


Also, What could I do with the menu? it have's too much space and I don't know what to do to make it feel more... full...


Anyways, If you have some other advice you could give me for the entire website, please, just feel free to comunicate

First, over all impression - the layout and box shadow is dated and looks like it is from the 90's, you need to take away the box shadows at least. Then try adding more space to everything and removing the frames around everything.

 

Menu - I think that all it needs is spacing out more if you want to make it 'full' so that it better occupies the area. Personally I would consider aligning the menu to the right.

 

The logo - Well you have a problem if you must use it, are you permitted to make it smaller? It just seems to be old fashioned and in your face and I don't think the location will make a lot of difference to that. If this is for a client then suggesting a new logo would be a good idea if it were not on the front of that building in the photo.

 

The photo - It is distorted, try trimming it to fit the area or giving it a bigger area.

 

The left column - With the logo being so big and on the left is makes the left column look out of balance as the items in that column are wider than the logo and the logo looks almost like it is part of the column.

 

The background - I would say that the background image is to strong and distracts from the content area, adding a blur or softening the image could help.

The logo looks ok, it's just distorted, I think the direction you should take is more in line with this sort of thing ( saves me a lot of typing) http://www.schweizerhof-bern.ch

 

Don't steal it obviously but the general menu positioning, the image dynamics etc, I can see the logo fitting very well in this type of website
