Imagettftext issues

Featured Replies

Why is it when i write text on an image using imagettftext with a set font size of 20 from a website that i am building the font renders very small on the image when i try the site on ubuntu but renders normal size when i visit the site on windows. Why is this? must i detect the operating system of the user and adjust as needed or something? never ran into this issue before

Are you talking about PHP on Windows/Ubuntu rendering it differently? If that is the case then I don't know but obviously different systems render fonts differently (although not to the scale of what you're saying usually).

If you are talking about browsers viewing the images different on Windows/Ubuntu. A caching issue possibly? If the images are being served dynamically try and save them to the filesystem and then access them via a browser.

I actually just figured this out. Oddly enough it was the size of different images i was trying tht made the font render differently
