November 25, 201312 yr Hello WDF.I'm stuck in the process of building my very first webshop using Woocommerce as webshop plugin. The theme i'm using is called zeeNoble.First i want to say that because of my poor language skills, i will have a hard time explaining to you what the problem is, and you will also have a hard time understanding me. But please hear me out, because i have been stuck in this situation for weeks now...I have a product with 3 different specifications: Size, ET & PCD measure. First of, i want you to keep in mind that the only specification that has influence on the price of the product is the size of the product, and the size only.I want you to take a look on how my website and the product catalog with all the information looks. Here you can see a tiny window which is the product catalog. I'm trying to move all information on product F1001 over to my website, and also setting it up correct so that the customer can choose his specific Size, ET & PCD measures. In the background you can see how my website looks, and how my current attributes and variations are set up.If you look at the catalog.pdf window, you see that the size 15x7.0 is produced in ET: 35-40 and PCD: 100-115But the next size(16x7.0) is produced in ET: 35-42 and PCD: 100-115. That's my problem right there. The different sizes of product has different ET & PCD measures.Picture of how my attributes and variations looks like on product F1001: Here is what i want to do!When the customer visits the products site "F1001" the only selection box he will see is the Rim Size box. When the customer has selected his desired rim size, the next selection box that will pop up would be the ET value. When the customer has selected his desired ET value for his rim size, then the last selection box will pop up: the PCD value. The customer then defines his PCD value and that's it. The customer has then selected all 3 specifications. All this information must also be shown at checkout so that my customer can see exactly what he is buying. You might wonder why this isn't possible the way Woocommerce is already, but when i link my variations. I will have specifications likeRim size15x7.0ET:51PCD:120If you look in the catalog you'll se that the size doesn't match the ET & PCD value, so therefor i have a hard time figuring out how i do this the right way.If you have a hard time understanding what i'm saying, please do contact me: m.boege2@gmail.com And i'll do everything it takes to solve this problem
March 2, 201412 yr Might be too late for you, or you've moved on. When setting up the possible attributes / variations combinations you can get WooCommerce to generate all possible combinations of attributes or you can supply only the valid combinations of attributes. If you have less than 50 combinations, I usually get Woo Commerce to generate the combinations, then go through and eliminate the combinations which I don't want to use, leaving only the valid ones. As to your drop downs restricting your choices. It does doe exactly what you indicated. If you only have certain combinations available, it will only show in subsequent drop downs the options available after the first one has been chosen.
