August 21, 201313 yr Hi guys, I'm currently speaking from my hotel room on a terrible WiFi connection and looking for advice. So, I'm in Ibiza, that's fact number one. Fact two is that I am in no way a party animal and dislike the concept of drinking, especially getting drunk (can't stand it). I'm here for the beaches, good food, views and escaping from normality. Which leads me to fact three: it's only been a day and I'm in misery, laying on my hotel bed, for a number of reasons. I'm with my best friend Dave, his friend Shane and three guys I don't know brought along by Shane, and they're hateful. They're loud, obnoxious, animalistic drunkards wanting to get pissed 24/7. So you could say they're way more ideal for Ibiza than I am. What's more, an events representative squeezed a huge chunk of mine (and Dave's) budget by pressuring us (me more than Dave to be fair) into signing up to various parties and events. It's almost like a concentration camp where our "holiday" is a series of jobs and tasks. Anyone got any advice? I really just want to go home but I've got another five days of this and then flying back on the sixth. Dave and I are going to do our own things over the coming days, should help a little bit.
August 21, 201313 yr Harsh. I'd have to say that sounds like the epitome of Ibiza. I haven't been but there's a literal 'side' you can go to were the few remaining locals live (saw a documentary on it). I'd say get up early and hike it up there to have a looksie. The reps tend to be partied out first thing in the morning anyway/preying on some naiive types the night before. They can't do much about it if you're not there as you didn't sign a contract I assume. It's just one of those 18-30's things isn't it. Not much they can do if you're not about It's your holiday so don't let those morons ruin it for you - you're just another number to them. You're a photographer right? I hear Ibiza has some beautiful vistas. Why not head that way?
August 22, 201313 yr Author Hey 4lis4, thanks for reading. Things are getting a bit better, the three idiots were so hungover they remained quiet all day when I saw them which was good. Spent most of the day doing things I enjoyed. 5 days to go, then freedom!
August 24, 201313 yr Rather than go home just book a room in a nice place on the quiet side of the island and go by yourself, I've heard the scenery is stunning out there. Nothing chills me out than some time alone in beautiful surroundings

Spent most of the day doing things I enjoyed. 5 days to go, then freedom! Glad things worked out to some extent. Hopefully the last sentence will improve and that it doesn't feel like a prison sentence. I don't know what the weather is like in Norwich, but down South it's poor. At least enjoy the sun on this *bright bank holiday weekend
August 24, 201313 yr Author Rather than go home just book a room in a nice place on the quiet side of the island and go by yourself, I've heard the scenery is stunning out there. Nothing chills me out than some time alone in beautiful surroundings Booking a room elsewhere would cost a fortune, but no need now really. Since my first post the three guys have been fine mostly due to their constant hungover states, but even when feeling shipshape they aren't too bad. Spending my days by the pool, dining, the usual. I did go out to a club with them (giving it a chance) and wasn't amused ha. Otherwise I'm happy, can't wait to come home though.
August 28, 201313 yr I hate drinking full stop. I don't touch the stuff so i am with you on that one! But the clubs.. everyone loves music surely! And.. (unless you bat for the other team) the women! I would say those alone are enough for me to just be in bliss.. let alone the sunshine. Have to say (minus the idiots) i am jealous! You get all the pros and none of the cons. Wake up, chill, go out, meet the girls, rave to the tunes, go to bed.. and the next day.. all over again hangover free!

First of all I can't stand the music, you can't speak to anyone because it's so loud and I find them to be fairly anti-social places at times. That said I do drink, go out occasionally and end up in clubs. I'd rather be in a pub but past 11:30 you have no option over here.
