August 11, 201313 yr Soundcloud.com has a feature on their site that I am interested in, and I would like to know how can something like that be bulit. When you play a song on sound cloud, you can continue to browse the site but the song keeps playing and you have the audio controls available in the "top bar" of the site at all times. How can something like this be made, how can one part of the website ignore reloading when changing url's/pages?
August 13, 201313 yr When you click a link on the site the relevant parts of the page are updated by Javascript instead of by requesting another URL, leaving the top bar as it was to continue playing!
August 13, 201313 yr Pages are loaded via Ajax - http://tutorialzine.com/2009/09/simple-ajax-website-jquery/. This means the user does not have to leave the page. The audio controls are most likely Javascript too, but have just been abstracted from the audio player and placed somewhere else.
