Do you have access to Photoshop? If so, there are plenty of tutorials on the web that can help you make a 3D logo, such as these: http://www.photoshoplady.com/photoshop-tutorial/category/3d-effect/page/3/.

After creating the logo, you can just use the layer style techniques in Photoshop to add the 3D feel or if you don't feel like learning the whole proccess, you can get an action script for Photoshop which will automatically convert your piece of artwork into 3D.

 

Take my avatar for example, it was a simple text "nt", I played with layer styles and added a 3D touch this way.

You can easily make 3-D logos using an illustrator.

Most graphic packages can handle 3D logo's. If you're feeling adventurous, you could use something like ZBrush or Blender for 3D work. A bit of a drawn out solution though as PS or AI would be fine. If budget is tight, look into GIMP and/or Inkscape.

Hope it will help you.

For simple 3D shapes Photoshop and Illustartor will do the job. For logos I would think Illustrator would be best. For more Complex shapes you might need an actual 3D model program like max, maya, blender. Most 3D programs will let you import vector shapes (2D logos) when the logo is imported you can extrude and add vertices in 3d space.
