July 24, 201313 yr Hello,I am in the process of redesigning our ecommerce store and am looking for some advice. The header on the attached image simply doesn't work with the colour scheme, the only thing that needs to remain is the red logo, all other colours can change within the header. Can you offer any ideas on how to make this visually appealing? Regards
July 24, 201313 yr Could try a black-to-dark-grey gradient with a grid-like overlapping effect blended into it, or a lines effect instead of a grid. Here's one of my banners as an example of such grid/lines effect: Notice them to the left? Just an idea, there are a million others you could try.

Hello, Thanks for the suggestion - ultimately though the site is for CCTV cameras and as such it's probably best left as plain as possible as to not draw too much attention towards the header. Just looking for some input on colour schemes for the header - i.e. coloured background with white/black text, dark background with white text, light background with dark text and if so what shades. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help ...the idea behind the suggestion of a blended grid/line was to add a subtle effect to make it less bland, I didn't mean a wacky colour scheme. But, good luck. July 29, 201313 yr I think plain black would look very nice for this, you could also increase the height of the whole element a bit, to give it more space on top and bottom.Do those 2 things, and I think you'll see some nice results
