'ello dude - from my first thought - I'm not a fan of splash intro pages, I prefer to get visitors into the content asap! Just a personal thing tho

 

Your title tag is a bit confusing for me - you've take the first copy from the site and used it, I'd think about what you want your title to say - even using a couple of dashes would make it more readable. Shorter is Better! "Home Page - Permiweb - All our team are currently training to furthering their knowledge within the industry. ?

 

Your text on the left hand-side is exactly same style as the main copy, maybe adjust it (lighten?) so it's different and visitors eyes aren't confused about where to start reading from.

 

When your writing text for the web, try and make it as short and to the point as possible. Visitors only scan pages, they don't 'read'. I'm pretty guilty of this myself!! Think, what do I want the visitor to know after they visit this page.

 

Last thing, that'll sound really really silly.. but you don't actually say what you do.. you say your good at 'it', you've got training for 'it' and that your a new company think differently for 'it'. Also, getting words like "web design" etc into your copy with help with your search engine rank

Firstly I'd get rid of the splash page - too slow and doesn't really add any value to the site to be honest.

A few other things I think you should sort out:

 

Navigation

- Decide whether to use all lower case or capitalise the first letter of each word - as you've mixed both and it looks shoddy.

- Your coloured overlaps look a bit messy too as they incorporate the divider lines - I notice that you've got each element in a separate div - maybe think about creating one image containing the off and on states and make your navigation into a list as Ben demonstrates in this tutorial: CSS Image Rollover

- It would be good also to have the on state of the button active when you're in a section

 

Left Hand Column

- I think your padding here is too small - the text hasn't got room to breath - I'd increase the width of the column to allow more space around the text. You could get away with have the entire site width a little wider to allow for this.

 

Portfolio

- It's a bit disconcerting when you select Portfolio and get taken to a completely different layout and the main navigation disappears - I would incorporate your portfolio into the main layout to avoid confusion and frustration.

- confusion tihe 'home' - when you're in the portfolio section and you click on home it takes you to the actual home page, but when you're in the rest of the site the home button takes you to the splash page.

 

Contact Form

- this is totally disjointed from the site - why? Why not put the contact form within your page structure?

well thank you for your feedback I will now look at it in whole new lite and will absorb all your comments and feed them into my memory bank and follow through with some of you great suggestions as I find them very good and straight to the point and I like that as my piers around here say Oh it's good and leave it, but I knew in myself that it wasn't right in some areas..
