Image rotating in iPad - Why?

Silly question, I have an image on my site that rotates 90 degrees clockwise only in iPad. A Google search does not reveal a definitive answer that is recent. Please advise. Thanks.

A short experiment leads me to believe the pic was rotated wrong in iPad and did not render correctly even though the PC was used to rotate the pic back. If the iPad is used to rotate the pic back, it will render correctly in iPad.

I think it all depends on whether you made the website compatible with mobile devices, the formatting could be the problem here.
