does it effect your sites rankings at all if you have a uk.com, org.uk site rather than a .com, co.uk, .net

 

I'd like to think not and that its more down to having good content etc, but I've read a few things suggesting otherwise.

Rather then worrying about how your domain extension affects your ranking, i think you should worry about what extension fits your website best. And what your target audience is. Domain extensions arent random. There is a good reason why they are called like this.

your search engine ranking will increase more if you are more succesfull in reaching your target audience. rather then by what extension you are using.
