December 21, 201213 yr Hey all. I am looking for some feedback on the site that I have built. I know its very basic, I am pretty much a beginner when it comes to this kind of thing. The link to the website is http://www.aandbsnacksandtreats.co.uk I would appreciate any feedback, but please go easy Thanks Andy
December 21, 201213 yr Before someone smashes your site to pieces I'll attempt to give some criticism that is actually constructive.... 1. Envision a color scheme that reflects your personality and that of your business 2. Light text on dark background or vice versa, not black text on dark grey background. 3. Center the site on the page and light everything up 4. Make the slide show the width of the page, no wider than 900px? 5. Don't leave empty space at the bottom of the page. 6. Add contact info and social media links to the footer 7. Do a search for your competition and layout your site look like theres, and then make it your own.
December 21, 201213 yr Hey Andy! IEMS made some good points so hopefully mine will add to them. 1. It is a web convention that the logo is also a link to the homepage. 2. ACCESSIBILITY! Important one. Image alt tags should be a textual alternative to the image, not a description. So scrap saying 'logo' and write the title of the company. Same for the opening times, although it would be far better if you actually wrote it out into a table. 3. Web Design is 95% typography. Line lengths of around 50-80 characters are the easiest to read, contrasting colour of text and background, etc, etc. 4. I don't know the specifics about it but personally in the footer I would write © A&B Snacks and Treats. All rights reserved. I think that's a good start. If you need any help to hesitate to ask.
