Simple Membership Management Joomla

Hello All

I am a volunteer with a small non-profit charity. Currently we have a website backed by Joomla.

I would like to move our membership to an online system.

Right now people download the form on the net, post to us and we put in a giant spreadsheet

Not efficient. I would like people to be able to sign up themselves, pay via bank deposit or PayPal. This data should be able for us to look and see who's fees are expiring etc. Not a forum though. Would be good if users can manage/update details themselves. That's all. Nothing too complicated.

So much going around and I am not sure what would be the easiest option. There are no many options and no clear winner or easy to find/use option.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
