September 20, 201213 yr This might seem like a stupid question, but do I need to update my website's Robots.txt and/or Sitemap.sml whenever I add pages to my site? Thanks.
September 26, 201213 yr Robots.txt - only update if you want to provide specific instructions for that file. Sitemap.xml - update any time you upload a new page. If this is a common problem, you should really look at using a CMS.
September 26, 201213 yr When you put new article on your site you should update your sitemap xml. (its better to use xml format). You can make it by hand or use special plagin. For instance inside Wordpress you can use this plagin http://wordpress.org...emap-generator/ and your sitemap will update automatically. Also you should make priority for each article inside sitemap. September 27, 201213 yr There is also a Sitemap generator you can use http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ which automatically creates your sitemap and has a couple of cool features to help you have a bit of control over your sitemap. If your using some sort of CMS or Blog system then there are always plugins which will automatically do all the work for you, you just have to search for them.
