Hi everyone. I believe i need some tips from you guys. I'm trying to create a webpage that is some sort of a online virtual room where you can access personal blog, personal resume, my sound cloud page, and so on. It has to work as a root to all sites I want people to visit.

 

Simply by clicking the buttons in the menu at the top, you can move your view from an object to an other, and then by clicking on the object it is possible to load the website is it linked to (for example, by clicking on the typewriter you can access my personal blog, and so on).

 

Most of the work is done, but i believe is can be improved. I would love to make it a little more user-friendly and a little better looking (title, menu, etc...) I would love to receive your feedback in order to make it better and eventually final.

I opened it up on a 1200px vertical resolution and felt like I was looking through a letterbox. Use the whole screen, ffs.

I tested it with my 1680*1050 monitor and everything looks fine to me. What browser are you using? Would it be to much to ask you to screenshot me how you see the webpage? I would really appreciate that, thanks!

It's interesting effect but panning/ scrolling around a big image is probably not the best way to achieve it. The page loading time suffers badly because of it, even with broadband and the wife logged off.

 

If I had to make something similiar would probably look at using SVG images, maybe some javascript sliding divs holding the images, HTML5 'canvas' posibbly and if all else failed then Flash.

This is what I came up with... is this what you meant? I like it much more now, even though the more I keep working on this the more I think it needs some changes. It will hopefully became profesional looking.
