Help Needed from Pro's

Hi There,

I'am very new to the world of Professional Web designing. I was earlier a Commercial Executive in an Exports Firm, Now i left the job and started a Bpo process for which i designed the website myself.

My website : www.arsensupport.com

I'am Just a beginner in web designing and coding and im pretty much ready to bit the bullet and get into Professional Web Designing.

I'am not able to tell which stream of web designing is going to be a big demand in future and also i would like to expand my skills on it.

This is what i know, i rated my skills out of 10.

Photoshop - 5 / 10

Flash - 5/10

Dreamweaver - 8 / 10

XHTML - 8 / 10

CSS - 7 / 10

Java - 5 / 10

I'am starting to expand my skills on MySQL, PHP, Word press..

Am i going in the right direction ? On what else should i expand my skills on ?

Thanks in advance and CHEERS..:)

Here are my marks out of 10 for how important these things are:

Photoshop - 5 / 10 (eye for good design is more important, and there are other programs to use)

Flash - 1/10 (stop it, stop it now)

Dreamweaver - 0 / 10 (again, just stop it unless you're not using design view, then it's ok)

HTML - 10 / 10

CSS - 10 / 10

Java - 10 / 10 (I presume you mean Javascript)

You should really be learning HTML, CSS and Javascript to the fullest of your ability all the time as they are integral to any website, and you should keep up to date with any advancements. The only big decisions you really need to make is what server side language, and what CMS you are going to specialize in, as you can't be an expert in them all. Most people go with PHP due to popularity but there are other options.

this is a joke thread? right? A beginner who rates themselves 8 out of 10? How did you come to that? On another thread you can't even validate your site because you have two DOCTYP statements.

One more thread linking to your site and say goodbye.

Omg.. did i put that as 8 ? Must have been a slip of my hand instead of 2.. Was in a hurry :)

Thanks for pointing it out.. By the way.. That's too harsh for a reply..

You could have pointed out that i put a high score and a thread with a basic XHTML doubt..

Take my advice you will always be a moderator not a leader with such qualities..

Horse****. You've rated yourself highly for everything. You're more likely 1s and 2s for all of it.

I'm a helluva lot better than you and I wouldn't give myself the scores you gave yourself.

I think I did point that out and there was nothing harsh about it.

If you link to your site one more time then you will be gone from this forum. Dont need to be a leader to tell you that.

Putting ratings on a hurry is my fault.

My apologies Guys..

Why shouldn't i put a link to my website ?

because you seem to be doing it in every thread you start and that starts to look spammy.
