I’m currently making a site where people can buy A3 A4 A5 etc. photo prints from the vendor and was wondering which option would be best to choose? I figure wordpress would be good as easily manageable, but wouldn’t i need to make a post for each image i put up for sale? Which would mean updating would become a bit of a chore as there will be quite a few photos being uploaded. The other option would be PHP linked to SQL database, but would know how i would go about setting it up?

 

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction and i can go and learn up

If the main focus of the site is ecommerce, WordPress is the wrong choice. Look at ecommerce-focused software, OpenCart is a good choice for small to medium sites.

Thanks for reply again I was thinking I could just add a PayPal widget to my Wordpress setup so I can sell the pictures.

 

Do you think this would look out of place and be better with the cart?

Depends. If the main focus of the site is textual content and the shop is a sideline, WP plus an ecommerce plugin are the right tools for the job. If selling stuff is the main focus and the content is only there to aid in that, go with an ecommerce package.

Been looking into opencart over the weekend, its pretty cool

 

I know it looks pretty lame at the minute but ill work on it to make it better
