I ordered some books today. I'm just wondering if anyone has got any experience with any of the books below?

 

I've got a few on HTML and CSS, which I already know quite a bit of, I just need to sharpen up my skills on.. Hopefully these will be good reads:

HTML & CSS: Design & Build Websites

The Essential Guide to CSS & HTML

CSS Mastery: Advanced Web Standards Solutions

 

I got another on Javascript:

Javascript: The Definitive Guide

 

I also got another miscelanous book on web standards using the above languages, which is this:

Web Standards Creativity: Innovations in Web Design with XHTML, CSS & DOM Scripting

Haven't ready any of them but about the HTML books, the first two are quite old, so while they may be good. We might have new ways of doing the things they are doing in those books.

 

A book I would thoroughly recommend

 

Bulletproof Web Design: Improving Flexibility and Protecting Against Worst-case Scenarios with HTML5 and CSS3

 

I don't have this book but I have the 2nd edition. Which has very good reviews

As you say you already know HTML and CSS quite well this will be a good book for you and take you to the next level

 

A lot of CSS HTML books just teach you how to build basic things like a contact form. What this book does is take real wold examples explain why they aren't bulletproof and show you how to rebuild it in a bulletproof way and why it is bulletproof.

Ok great stuff. I've already got that on my wishlist actually but I'll be sure to pick it up next time I get paid! Thanks mate! Anyone got got experience with any of the above books?

Javascript the Definition book seems to be a good one but I use w3schools for javascript.

 

The most stuff I have learned is from php5 the complete manual .

I don't know if they have a Javascript book as well, you might take a look for it.
