Fireworks Rollover image question

I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I have with Fireworks rollover images.

 

Every time I create a slice part of an image and link it to a frame for a rollover or dijointed rollover the origional image part(that I have sliced) becomes faded! Is there anyway to prevent the origional image from being altered at all?

 

Any helpful advice greatfully recieved.
