I'm going to be distributing and e-book (PDF) but am obviously concerned to protect my hard work. Does anyone have any thoughts on PDF security, namely preventing copying, converting to word documents and unauthorised distribution. I've seen some very expensive software solutions but the trial versions didn't inspire confidence. Any thoughts appreciated,

You can restrict permissions on any PDF File within Acrobat. You can prevent printing, changes being made and encrypt all the documents content and protect with a password. As far as I am aware you can only do this one PDF File at a time though.
