ok ive downloaded xampp ive created a wordpress database,

 

Ive downloaded wordpress and installed it but when it comes to opening the file named wp-config-sample.php

 

to change it, my computer cant read the php file and it wont open. any suggestions?

Ok, to edit it you will need to open it in a text editor or something like Dreamweaver. If your computer doesn't do this automatically you will need to right click on the php file and select "Open with..." then select NotePad, WordPad, Dreamweaver, or whatever your favourite text editor is
