April 20, 200818 yr Go for PHP5. All the previous versions has reached end of life and will have no more support. PHP 6 is in development, but I don't know when it'll be release. I'm really hoping it'll be soon as it finally supports Unicode. I can't really see any reason to learn older versions of any language.
April 20, 200818 yr Hey web-rookie, You should definitely go for PHP 5 for the time being as like Thomas said, PHP 6 won't be released for a while yet. Quite a few of the PHP 6 features are going to be pushed out with the upcoming PHP 5.3 release anyway, so learning 5 will definitely keep you going for a few years
