Hello everyone,

 

I'm new here, and I'm looking for a web design software to make a website for my business, and I have been looking all over the internet for an easy software to buy, which will be simple to use without much knowledge but good enough to make a professional looking website with, I haven't found much and I even bought "Web Easy 8 professional" but wasn't what I was looking for.

 

Someone has recommended to me Web Studio 5 and I was wondering what you guys thought of it because I was also directed to this forum to seek advice. So does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

If you don't have any design or coding knowledge then your going to find it difficult to find a package to create a professional job for you.

 

Not to be rude but if you want an electrician to change some plugs you pay a professional, if you want your bathroom tiled you pay a professional. My point is if you don't pay a professional the results will only be as good as your own abilities.

You probably should just buy a template from a site and then put your own content on it using dreamweaver or something similar, to build your own, untrained isn't going to be the right way to go to get a website that looks professional. I'd suggest checking out Tristar Web Design they have a lot of nice templates at good prices as well as a sitebuilder feature which might be what your looking for.

Try using CMS is simpler and easier than the programs you are using. We recommend Joomla, Wordpress and the new. You can download templates in CSS and make adjustments using Front Page and Dreamweaver.

Unless you're immensely talented, it will turn out to be one of those slightly frustrating things where you have a vision in mind of what you want to acheive, and you get stuck in flinging bits and pieces in here and there, and it looks ok... but it won't be a professional standard.

Why? Because the professionals do this as their living, and also judging from most of the regulars on this site, are mines of information and very experienced with what works, what doesn't, why it doesn't etc. - most of them do it MORE than full time given half a chance.

 

So as a piece of early advice - if what you want is an "ok - not bad" website then do it yourself. If what you want is a 'professional' looking product then it would be a far more economical use of your time and money to hire a professional if your time is occupied running your business.

 

Sorry, I know that wasn't your question and I don't know much about web site software having never used it (always done hand coding etc.) - but just thought it'd be doing you a favour to tell you that before you start.

This is probably the way to go, but bear in mind you still have to get graphics and design your site in terms of usability etc. - something these programs can't really do for you (well maybe in a templatey sort of a way).

If you are able to buy a software with some readymade template and stuffs,then why not you are hiring a web developer?

 

There are lots of free template in web.you can download them and can use them to your project. but if you need unique and professional desin you shoud hire some one to do so.

I would invest in Dreamweaver. It is capable of doing just about anything and always better than the rest.

 

With YouTube and other websites on the web, it is also very easy to get help and advice which you can apply to Dreamweaver.

Hire a professional. If you are serious about this business, you need a professional image and unless you are incredibly talented and creative you will NEVER be able to make one with any of the "easy site builder" sites or software.

 

Heck, a good number of people who spend four years in school for Web Design suck at it, primarily because the profession isn't learning a toolset, it's having the knowledge to properly assess a business or organization's needs, organize and lay out content in a way that meets those needs, designing the most effective way for the user to experience that content, creating a stunning visual design and coding a clean, semantic, accessible and valid site. That's a lot of things that come together into the final product.

 

Now, if you really don't have the budget (and I mean REALLY can't afford to make a crucial investment in your business's marketing) for a solution tailored to your needs, find a CMS that is simple and find a theme for that CMS. This will get you on your feet.

 

If you have a couple of years to devote to learning all of the things I mentioned above, then by all means, go to it. But, it's probably a safer idea to invest in a professional or a canned solution instead of trying to do it yourself. It really isn't as easy as it may look.
