New site - Need Feedback

Featured Replies

Hi,

I started a new forum for webdesigners and webmasters. Its an international webdesign forum, webdesigner and webmaster from all over the world shall be able to find new business relations and information.

Now I would like to know if there are many mistakes in the english texts. Are they okay or what could be better?

What do you think of the forum?

kind regards,

I have taken a quick look, most of the english is fine although there are discrepancies between the German/English descriptions.

In the web-design feedback forum you can show the web-pages you made. You will also get some feedback what could be better and what is perfect.

Could just say:

A place to post links to your websites and ask for feedback from other members.

An example of discrepancy is here:

Client Side (HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript) (EN)

Here you can list questions about the client side coding and development.

Clientseitige Webprogrammierung (HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript) (DE)

Fragen zum Thema "Clientseitige Webprogrammierung (HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript)" können hier besprochen werden.

Either remove the listing of the languages from the German description or add it to the english...

E.g.

Questions regarding client side coding and development(HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript).

In general there isn't much else to comment on though, you are using a default install and theme of PHPBB, it looks quite plain and to be honest a bit boring. The header isn't anything to look at either.

I am also concerned that you call it an "international" board but it's aimed only at German/English speakers (thats not very international...) and also, how do you intend to get people coming to the board and using it? You have some stiff competition!!!

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I edited my forum.

The header isn't the final one. I'm already working at a better one.

The forum is also a try to connect the german speakers to the english speakers. I think the language which nearly everybody speaks is English, so I chose this one for the international part of the board.

Soon there will be added some features which will make the board more interesting I think.

If there's more feedback, let me know :)

I didn't even think it could mean that, doh!

Yes, the -er means Web Designer.

But I thought it could be also helpful if "Web Design" is also in the domain name :)

Sorry for the stupid question, but what means "engg." ? My english isn't the best :)
