I would like to have SEO Friendly urls, but when i click on a page i get the 404 message. the website is www.mytyne.org.uk and if you click on a listing it goes to 404.

 

Please help. I will try any advise.

Could be web hosting issue!

There are many things you'd need to check and we'd need more details, as you're very vague.

 

Initially I'd ensure the actual page you're trying to rewrite exisits and you have your ReWriteBase set correctly. I did write a bit oif blog post a while ago about this: http://www.web-design-talk.co.uk/116/seo-friendly-urls-with-mod-rewrite/

 

If you're testing the site locally E.g. http://localhost/mysite/ you'd need to set your ReWriteBase as follows:

 

ReWriteBase /mysite/

I have got the pages. For example if I click on the healthcare category then there are a list of business's, but with rewrite on, it comes up 404. Do i need to edit anything in my .htaccess?
